Heart of the Women

Heart of the Women Heart of the Women (Ranm Ixoqi´/ Corazón de Mujer) is a 100% worker owned cooperative of Maya women weavers promoting fair trade in Guatemala.

We are a cooperative of Maya Kaqchikel and Quiche women who came together in Chimaltenango in the early 1990s as survivors of the 36 year civil war. We lost family members and our homes during the violence, but we didn't let what happend to us keep us from moving forward with our lives. We weave from our hearts and sell our weavings at a fair price. This allows us to provide our children with daily necessities and the opportunity to go to school.
