What can I say?

Let’s not talk about the countless animals suffering on the streets, in the mountains, and in forgotten places.

Let’s talk about this one soul.

A body that can barely breathe. A little creature so emaciated that its condition resembles a co**se. And yet… he still eats with appetite. And that gives us hope.

But do you know what he wants before food?

A gentle touch.

Not food. Not medicine. Not a soft bed.

He wants someone to stroke him, to make him feel seen, safe, and loved.

Just look at him.

And remember that there are so many more like him. We do not even share half of the cases we deal with every day. Behind every photo we post, there are dozens of animals suffering in silence, waiting for help.

While we enjoy the companionship of our dogs at home, thousands of dogs in Greece, Romania, Spain, and other Southern European countries struggle every day just to survive. For many of them, adoption is their only chance for a better life.

There are many trustworthy organizations helping dogs from Southern Europe find loving families. One of them is Angels Garden in Xanthi, Greece, which I can personally recommend.

Moka is looking for her forever home. 🐾

Her name is Moka, and she is only 2 years old.

Despite her young age, she has already gone through two failed adoptions and is now back with us. That means she has been hurt, has lost people she loved, and needs someone who will stay by her side forever this time.

Moka is obedient, intelligent, and deeply devoted to her people. However, she needs a very specific kind of home.

⚠️ Moka cannot live with other animals. She is not suitable for a home with cats or dogs, without any exceptions.

For this reason, we are looking for: ✔️ A home without other pets
✔️ Responsible and committed adopters
✔️ People who understand that Moka has already experienced too many changes in her life

She is not the right dog for everyone. But for the right person, she could be the perfect companion.

Unfortunately, it's a new drama every single day.

We had been informed about this dog before, but there was always another emergency that had to come first. Until he finally collapsed. Blood started running from his nose.

Calling the municipality responsible for him was not even an option. By the time the bureaucracy moved, he would have been dead by the weekend.

He was rushed to the veterinary clinic with a critically low hematocrit of 10%.

Diagnoses: Heartworm disease Leishmaniasis Ehrlichiosis

With a hematocrit this low, the prognosis is extremely poor.

But our president insisted:

"You are not going to euthanize him. He is a young dog. His kidneys and liver are still functioning well. He has a chance. A small one, but he has a chance."

And so, another battle begins.

Another €1,000 case. Another time we find ourselves asking for help. For what feels like the thousandth time.

Because behind every animal that "didn't make it," there was a battle fought until the very end.

For years, Fifi lived just outside our shelter. Always there. Quiet, gentle, and familiar — a little presence waiting for us every day.

But time never goes unnoticed.

Our little old lady started slowing down. Her steps became heavier, her eyes more tired, and life on the streets became harder with each passing season.

So we made a decision.

Fifi will not grow old alone.

Our volunteers brought her into the shelter so she can have what every animal deserves in their senior years: a warm bed, good food, safety, care, and people who love her.

We don't know how much time she has left.

What we do know is that we want every day from now on to be filled with love, comfort, peace, and dignity.

Welcome home, Fifi. ❤️

Providing lifelong care for senior dogs is one of the most beautiful things we do, but it is also one of the hardest. Older dogs often need special food, medication, veterinary care, and a safe place where they can live out their remaining years with dignity.

For 3 days now, he has been eating nonstop.
Going from bowl to bowl as if he is afraid the food will disappear again.

And that’s when you realize…
he is not “greedy.”
He was starving.
Truly starving.

The kind of hunger you don’t only see on the body.
You see it in the panic.
In the fear.
In the way he eats without even lifting his head.

No animal should ever reach this point.

They love them when they grow old, when they get sick, when they need someone to stay beside them until the very end.
