🌿 BioBOND brought European communities together for a greener urban future!

From 5 to 7 May 2026, we had the pleasure of coordinating the Town Twinning event of BioBOND - Bonding Cities for a Bio-Driven and Sustainable Urban Future in Greece, in cooperation with the Municipality of Alexandreia.

The event brought together participants and partner organisations from Greece, Italy, Poland, Bulgaria and Serbia, creating a valuable space for dialogue, cooperation and the exchange of good practices between European communities.

Throughout the programme, participants explored key topics related to sustainable urban development, climate adaptation, biodiversity protection, eco-friendly public spaces and inclusive civic participation.

Through expert-led sessions, institutional dialogue and meaningful exchanges, BioBOND highlighted how European towns and local communities can work together to build greener, more resilient and more inclusive cities.

We warmly thank the Municipality of Alexandreia, our European partners, speakers and all participants for their valuable contributions and inspiring exchange of ideas.

🍑 Peach season is here in Veria! 🌞

Did you know that the region of Veria is one of Greece's most important peach-producing areas?

Every summer, local orchards come alive with thousands of trees full of juicy, flavorful peaches that are enjoyed across Greece and exported to markets around the world. The unique climate, fertile soils and generations of agricultural knowledge make this region ideal for producing high-quality peaches.

Beyond their delicious taste, peaches are rich in vitamins, antioxidants and nutrients that support a healthy lifestyle.

As the heart of peach production in Greece, Veria showcases the dedication of local farmers who work tirelessly to bring fresh, sustainable and nutritious products from the orchard to our tables.

🍑 Support local agriculture.

The third day of the AgriVETourism training course ended with a visit to the agritourism Il Giardino dell’Orco, near Lake Averno 🌿

After the morning training sessions, participants experienced an immersive visit to a farm that enhances local resources by respecting natural rhythms and seasonality. From citrus-based products such as homemade marmalades and honey to the use of wild herbs in traditional recipes, the visit offered a concrete example of how sustainability, tradition and hospitality can come together in authentic agritourism practices.

A valuable opportunity to strengthen the connection between learning, local heritage and innovation in rural tourism experiences.

🇬🇧 Today marked the first training day of the AgriVETourism project, combining classroom activities with a field visit to Agriresort del Vesuvio, a meaningful example of agritourism rooted in the Vesuvian territory.

Participants explored a model of so-called “heroic agriculture”, focused on promoting local products such as Pomodorino del Piennolo del Vesuvio, Vesuvian apricots, olive oil and local wine. The visit also included a learning path through a renaturalised former quarry, showing the volcanic soil layers that make this area uniquely suited to high-quality agricultural production.

A valuable and engaging learning experience offering direct insight into authentic and sustainable agritourism practices.

See you tomorrow for the second day of the AgriVETourism training programme! 🌱

Day 2 of the AgriVETourism training course combined classroom learning with a field experience, giving participants the opportunity to explore the role of product certification and digital communication in strengthening agritourism activities.

The visit to the agritourism Il Turuziello in Massa Lubrense offered a closer look at local excellence, including a tasting of PDO products and a demonstration of traditional mozzarella-making techniques, highlighting the value of authenticity and local traditions in agritourism experiences. 🌿🧀
