Meet our 2026 SIFFY filmmakers: today's filmmaker is Hilary Benjumea from Columbia.

Hilary is a Colombian-born cinematographer and video producer who grew up and developed her professional career in the United States. She holds an Associate Degree in Digital Media and a Bachelor’s Degree in Cinematography from Miami, and she has further expanded her training through specialized film programs in Los Angeles and Spain.

Her work focuses on cinematic visual storytelling across commercial content, brand activations, and promotional campaigns. Hilary combines technical precision with a strong aesthetic sensibility, creating visually engaging narratives designed for modern digital platforms and marketing campaigns.

Known for her adaptable style and creative vision, she collaborates with brands and creative teams to produce content that feels both cinematic and authentic, helping brands connect with audiences through compelling visual experiences.

Countdown to SIFFY: 32 days

Meet our 2026 SIFFY filmmakers: today's filmmaker is Valia Chatzichristodoulou from Greece.

Valia is a film student at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), specializing in production design. She has worked as a set and costume designer on multiple student and thesis films. Currently, she is developing her graduation project, a production design thesis for an experimental narrative short. Her artistic focus lies also in blending experimental and observational cinema, with a growing body of work in hybrid documentary filmmaking.

Meet our 2026 SIFFY filmmakers: today's filmmaker is Katerina Rekka.

The in-house editor for Alaska Films (https://alaskafilms.gr/), Katerina has played a large role in creating the SIFFY Documentary. She has edited many documentaries, commercial films and other audiovisual projects.

We're excited to have Katerina at SIFFY for another year to help our kids produce their films!

Meet our 2026 SIFFY filmmakers: today's filmmaker is Hannah Schulman from the U.S.

Hannah is a filmmaker and artist based in Brooklyn New York. She currently works on independent film and music video sets as producer or assistant director. Last year she directed Selling Rabbits, a short film that premiered at New/Next Film Festival.

We're excited to see what film Hannah's team of SIFFY kids produces!

Meet our 2026 SIFFY filmmakers: today's filmmaker is Jack Higgins from the U.S.

Jack is an Albuquerque, New Mexico based writer and filmmaker. He studied film and digital arts at the University of New Mexico and graduated with a BFA in 2024. He currently writes and works on friends’ low and no-budget sets while in the postproduction/marketing phase of his debut short film, Bugman.

Jack is back to work with SIFFY for another year, and we're excited! Let's see what film his team of SIFFY kids produces.

COUNTDOWN TO SIFFY: 42 days!

Meet our 2026 SIFFY filmmakers: today's filmmaker is Nunzio Papapietro from Italy.

He began working in 2005 on documentaries in Italy for cultural associations. He then went on to create documentaries in Northern Ireland and Bosnia. In 2010, he began working as a high school teacher in Italy and is now the curator of https://www.istruzioneer.gov.it/media/video/. He is also the creator and president of the film association, Cinegrammi.

Nunzio's back for another year at SIFFY, and we can't wait to see what he helps his team of SIFFY kids produce starting July 24.

COUNTDOWN TO SIFFY: 44 days

Meet our 2026 SIFFY filmmakers: today's filmmaker is Adrian Almazan from Spain.

Adrian is a filmmaker and photographer based in Spain. Starting his career working in photojournalism and architecture, his work is mostly specialized in fashion, commercials, and social media. He also works in live shows as a producer, but his true passion has, and will always be, the cinema.

Adrian's back for another year at SIFFY, and we can't wait to see what he helps his team of SIFFY kids produce starting July 24.
