On August 10th, we organized an activity for International Youth Day in the central square of Serres, Eleftheria Square. We talked with young and old about the problems and challenges they perceived as most pressing at this time in history. We then asked them to write on a piece of paper what they thought were the current and future challenges for young people and to read what the others had written. Some interesting debates and conversations ensued.

We then provided some data on various issues that arose and suggested policies that have worked in other European Union countries.

TODAY the 12th of August is the International Youth Day. The day for all the youth of the world and become aware of the issues and challenges that the youth face every day. But why is it important??

The generation between 15 to 24 are almost 1.3 billion.

59% of the youth in 2025 was already living with low income, but by 2050 this percentage will rise up to 69%.

Injuries are the main cause of death in youth deaths in low income countries.
This gets half in higher income countries.

30 young people, new friendships, different cultures, lots of laughter, meaningful conversations and plenty of unforgettable moments. 🫂🎉

Our Gender Bias Youth Exchange was a chance to learn, connect, share ideas and see things from new perspectives — all while enjoying the experience together. 💭🌱

From serious moments to completely random ones, from learning together to simply having fun, every day brought something new. 😄🎶

We may have arrived as strangers, but we left with stories to tell, memories to keep and people we’re happy to have met. 🧳💛

One week. Many stories. One beautiful experience. 🌟

Tomorrow INTERNATIONAL YOUTH DAY.

Every year since 1998, International Youth Day has been celebrated on August 12th, a day for all young people to reflect on the problems and challenges of the present and the future.

🌈 Gender Bias — Youth Exchange 🇮🇹

From 3–10 June, 30 young people came together in Morfasso, Italy, for a week of learning, connection and reflection around gender bias, stereotypes, inclusion and diversity.

Through non-formal education, forum theatre, World Café, debates, video-making and creative activities, we explored topics such as gender identity, equality, discrimination, harassment and human rights.

Together with our amazing facilitators Sara, Aurora and Paola, we challenged stereotypes, shared experiences, discovered new perspectives and learned practical tools, including the 5Ds Method, to become active allies in our communities. 💬✨

Beyond the learning, we built friendships, discovered different cultures, strengthened our teamwork skills and created unforgettable memories. ❤️

We leave this experience with new knowledge, new perspectives and the motivation to be part of positive change. 🌍

And, of course, we also enjoyed discovering the beautiful Castell’Arquato and connecting with the local community! 🇮🇹
