Travel Animal Rescue Grassroots direct action initiative for nonhuman animals
UK-registered charity # 1203785
TNVR-focused

Travel Animal Rescue Global is a non-speciesist animal rights organization whose mission is to prevent animal suffering before it’s created. Among other things, our Athens, Greece chapter focuses on the spay and neuter of free-living cats alongside the local community. 100% of donations go towards this work. We do not rescue, as we instead focus our resources on Trap-Neuter-Return while supporting

animal protection groups across the Global South. Animals who live unhoused on the street are at risk from severe weather, chronic illnesses, injuries, viruses and diseases, traffic accidents, and never experiencing love or care. Most of the illnesses and injuries they suffer from are completely preventable. By focusing on deworming, vaccinating, spaying, and neutering, we can help reduce their suffering and prevent the suffering of other animals. UK-registered charity # 1203785
Currently: 📍Athens, Greece 🇬🇷

It’s been two months since we finished our sterilisation program on Lefkada Island, where we sterilised, vaccinated, and treated 400+ community cats.

A kitten season has passed, so now we want to understand and measure the impact we had on the island.

If you live on Lefkada, or have visited this year, could you help us and answer some questions?

We want to know how the cat population is doing, whether there are new kittens, or if everyone is sterilised, so we know whether we’ve made a difference.

🐈‍⬛ Help us save the girls

Every female cat in our town is right now being chased, harassed, and forced to mate with these huge boy cats.

They chase them in hoards. You can see packs of 8 males chasing 1 female, cornering her while fighting with each other.

This relentless stress they experience every 3 months is a nightmare. They do not want this. They run away, hiss, and fight them off.

You can hear the males calling out all night, and the screams of the females being attacked by a group of male cats.

Male cat pen*ses have spikes on them, that embed into the female cats body so she can’t escape.

Forced mating not only results in unwanted and life-threatening pregnancy, but also exposes them to injuries and diseases from male cats.

🐈‍⬛ We need your help. Right now, spaying female cats is literally lifesaving.

Please help us save these girls from forced motherhood living in the streets.

Please donate here to save her with a spay:
