GASAH (Greek And Swiss Animal Help) is an animal welfare organisation operating on the island of Kos.

We focus on sterilisation projects, awareness raising and implementation of laws and animal rescue. You can find all kinds of methods to support us and help the animals on Kos on our website:

Lou was abandoned blind and severely underweight. Since she's with us, she has made great progress, showing more and more zest for life, and currently weighs around 18 kilograms with a shoulder height of 55 centimeters. 👏🏼 Lou is affectionate and enjoys being close to people. With each passing day, she gains more confidence and self-assurance. 🐶 Because of her blindness, she is looking for a home where she will be given plenty of time and patience to settle in. He's older, with a lump on his neck — maybe that's exactly why he was thrown away. 💔

This isn't how you treat a living being. He's old, and someone decided that meant he wasn't worth keeping.

Every dog we take in needs food, care, treatment - and that all adds up fast. We do this because they deserve it, but we can't do it alone.

𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗠𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘀.
Midas has a significant skin condition, most likely Demodex. He is staying with us for treatment and care. Despite his condition, he is very happy and cuddly. We are curious about his transformation, and we will keep you updated on his progress.

He was also, without doubt, the easiest catch ever. 😅

🌍 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗗𝗮𝘆 – 𝗞𝗶𝗱𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗕𝗶𝗴 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀 🐾
Today is World Charity Day – and we just witnessed the perfect example of it right on our doorstep!

A group of schoolkids from Kos took it upon themselves, on their own initiative, to sell handmade jewelry in order to raise food donations for the animals. Nobody asked them to – they just did it out of pure kindness and initiative. 💛

Afterwards, they came by in person, dropped off everything they'd collected, and of course spent some quality time cuddling our furry residents. 🐶🐱

This kind of commitment is simply outstanding – you are true role models for all of us. Thank you for showing what compassion and action look like! 🙏

𝗡𝗲𝘄𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝗹𝗽𝗶𝗱𝗮
Elpida means hope. We not only hope that this little one will make it, despite her difficult start in life. We also hope that there will be fewer unwanted cats in the future.
So far this year, we have had over 300 cats and 20 dogs neutered. This is the only way to bring about lasting change.

Your donation helps us to provide kittens like Elpida with the care they need – and ensures we can continue to cover the petrol costs and effort involved in our neutering campaigns.
