We are a legal charity registered with the Greek courts, with a committee of 7 volunteers who all live on the island full time. Our primary focus is on the stray dog and cat populations and while

there is a lot more work to do, we have started to see a big decrease in the number of dogs on the streets. Dogs that we take into our licensed shelter are never returned to the streets where it is not safe for them. Our shelter is in the charity name so there will always be a place to help the animals on the island. We see a big difference in the cat population too and have neutered over 6,000 cats in the last 5 years. We receive no funding at all from the government to date and rely solely on donations from the public in order to help the animals. Our bank and Paypal accounts are in the charity name and subject to regulations. We are tax exempt as a none profit, though still submit our accounts to the Greek tax office yearly. ALWAYS ON A HOLDAY..
This morning we received a call from a nice young lady from Tigaki..
It looks like this young male cat has been hit by a car and has no use of his back legs.
We have him comfortable and hydrated for now and tomorrow he will see our vet.
