Η συνεργασία μεταξύ οφθαλμιάτρων και οπτομετρών - οπτικών αποτελεί καθοριστικό παράγοντα για την ολοκληρωμένη φροντίδα της όρασης. Ο συνδυασμός της διάγνωσης και θεραπείας με την ακριβή αξιολόγηση της οπτικής λειτουργίας και την κατάλληλη εφαρμογή οπτικών βοηθημάτων εξασφαλίζει βέλτιστα αποτελέσματα για τον εξεταζόμενο - ασθενή. Μέσα από την αμοιβαία επικοινωνία και τον σεβασμό της θέσης κάθε επαγγελματία, ενισχύεται η ποιότητα των υπηρεσιών, προάγεται η πρόληψη και βελτιώνεται η συνολική εμπειρία και ασφάλεια προς όφελος του κοινωνικού συνόλου.

Με εξαιρετική επιτυχία πραγματοποιήθηκε η επιστημονική εκδήλωση EAO x SILMO Academy Spring Session Athens.

Για ακόμα μια χρονιά, σε αγαστή συνεργασία με την παγκοσμίου φήμης SILMO Paris, η ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΗ ΑΚΑΔΗΜΙΑ ΟΠΤΟΜΕΤΡΙΑΣ πρωταγωνιστεί με γνώμονα την προαγωγή της επιστημονικής γνώσης και της επαγγελματικής εξέλιξης των Eλλήνων Oπτικών – Οπτομετρών.

Είχαμε την ιδιαίτερη τιμή και χαρά να φιλοξενήσουμε διακεκριμένους ομιλητές παγκόσμιας εμβέλειας, προσωπικότητες που σπάνια έχουμε την ευκαιρία να παρακολουθήσουμε από κοντά.

MEET OUR SPEAKERS! ✨

Gabriëlle JANSSEN / Netherlands

Gabrielle Janssen studied optics (1994) and optometry (1998) in the Netherlands and was awarded the Fellowship of the American Academy in 2010. In 2018, she graduated for her MBA Health with a 9 (out of 10) for her thesis.
As former president of the Optometrists Association Netherlands and current President of ECOO (European Council of Optometry and Optics), Gabriëlle is dedicated to improving the position of opticians and optometrists within the eye care sector. She is a passionate advocate for collaboration, both in clinical settings and at a broader level between opticians – optometrists – ophthalmologists, driven by the mission to prevent avoidable blindness and vision impairment.
She says that achieving this requires the development and implementation of effective strategies, where she focuses on positioning, collective organisation, and the individual interests of members. A key factor is maintaining a well-functioning organisation to realise the vision of the organisation. Her expertise, rooted in both my optometry education and an MBA in Health, enables her to make strategic decisions and achieve set goals.
As an experienced optometrist with over two decades of clinical practice, Gabriëlle enjoys working two days a week to address patient needs, provide appropriate advice, and make (optometric) diagnoses.

Sébastien BRUSSET / France

Sébastien Brusset is an eyewear designer specialized in innovation, with almost 30 years of experience in the eyewear industry, with an optician training background. After being creative director at Alain Mikli and design, marketing and business developer VP at Group Logo (TAG Heuer, Fred, Salomon, etc.) he acts as a designer for international group, for regular eyewear but also smart eyewear. Since 2018, he works for the Silmo as a consultant, to animate the Futurology space, and since 2023, the expert committee, that aims to give indications of the future to the optical industry.

Zoi KAPOULA / France

Zoï Kapoula is a Research Director at the CNRS (National Center for Scientific Research), specializing in the field of cognitive neuroscience. She founded and lead the IRIS CNRS lab, which focuses on the neuro-physiopathology of eye movements and their interactions with vision, perception, cognition, body equilibrium, and posture. Her research encompasses various areas, including dyslexia, strabismus, tinnitus, vestibular deficits, vertigo, aging, cognitive impairment, and dementia in humans.
In addition to her research, she is actively involved in teaching eye movement control in neuroscience masters, orthoptics, and optometry. Zoï Kapoula holds patents for the REMOBI & AIDEAL technologies and is the founder of Orasis-Ear (orasis-ear.com), a spinoff of CNRS, which focuses on bringing innovations to visual and cognitive health professionals.
She has also created a national network on Art and Neurosciences and established a school on trans disciplinarity. Furthermore, she has published several books on Art and Neurosciences. Currently, she holds the position of Emeritus Research Director at LIPADE, University Paris Cité, and leads the Research and Teaching group "Eye Analytics & Rehabilitation" at Orasis-Ear.

Lorcan Butler FAAO FEAOO is Optical Engagement Manager for the Brain Tumour Charity. He is a dispensing Optician & Optometrist. His specialist interest is in detecting Brain Tumours in an eye examination. Lorcan has presented nationally and Internationally and worked with all of the National Optical Organisations & Associations in UK & Ireland. Lorcan is a KOL on papilloedema vs pseudopapilloedema and has presented at the European Academy of Optometry & Optics to European Optometrists in research, academia and industry.

Iwan ZANCHETTA / Switzerland

Iwan Zanchetta graduated from the FHNW University for Applied Sciences in Switzerland with a B.Sc. Optometry and from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry with a B.Sc. Optometry and from Salus University with a M.Sc. Clinical Optometry.
Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (AAO), Member of the European Academy (EAOO), in the Board of Swiss Association of Optometry and Optics (SBAO) as vice president, Swiss delegate for European Council of Optics and Optometry (ECOO) and member of the ECOO Professional Services Committee.
Currently working in private practice as an optometrist focusing in a holistic approach with patients. Nutrition, life style and life coaching are parts of the integrative optometry approach.
Actively involved in primary care optometry with special interests in aging, prescribing nutrients in the intervention of age-related macular degeneration, low-tension glaucoma, prevention of cataracts and dry eye.
