🏫👨‍👩‍👧‍👦🐾 Little minds, big lessons 🐾👨‍👩‍👧‍👦🏫
Our days were once again filled with children’s voices, smiles, and faces glowing with love and excitement. Following kind invitations, members of our Association visited the 8th and 10th Kindergartens of our city, sharing moments that left us deeply moved and full of hope.

Talking to young children about love, respect, empathy, and kindness toward animals—especially our defenseless stray animals—is something truly priceless. Shaping personalities by planting these values in such sensitive young minds is an invaluable achievement, one that belongs first and foremost to the educators, and that we are grateful to support, even by adding just a small stone.

We don’t need many words to describe how we felt spending this time with the little students. It was simply wonderful. Their hugs, their questions, and their sincerity—along with heartfelt actions like offering food for stray animals from their own savings—reminded us why education, compassion, and animal welfare go hand in hand.

A heartfelt thank you to all the little students for their big embrace, and to the educators for their dedication, sensitivity, and the incredible work they do every day. Together, through humane education, we nurture kindness—for animals and for life. 🐾❤️

✨❤️ LIFE AT AISOPOS, EVEN ON THE RAINY DAYS ❤️✨

Rain or shine… tired, sick, hurting, overwhelmed…
We show up.
Because at Aisopos, we made a promise and we keep it.

Every single day our dogs need food, clean spaces, safety…
But they also need laughter, cuddles, kisses, and play.
They need to run, jump, wiggle their whole bodies with joy the moment they see us walk in.

And that joy?
That joy is our reward.

In our little humble shelter, every dog shares space with friends.
They play like there’s no tomorrow, they explore, they bark, they chase each other…
and in return, they shower us with the purest love,
love you can feel in every look, every tail wag, every small excited hop.

This love is what keeps us going.
It’s what fills our hearts even when our bodies are exhausted.
It’s what reminds us why Aisopos exists.

This isn’t an easy post to write… but honesty is the least we owe you — and our animals deserve nothing less.

For years, so many of you have stood by Aisopos, our small but determined rescue in Kavala. You’ve helped us heal broken bodies, calm frightened hearts, and give hundreds of animals a future they never dreamed possible. Your support built every miracle we’ve achieved.

But today… we are at our lowest point ever.

📢🆘 THE MOST URGENT SOS 🆘📢
We are collapsing under the weight of suffering 💔🐾

🐈 On our way back from the vet, fate placed another soul in front of us—a tiny kitten, trembling on the roadside, just struck by a car. Her breaths were shallow, her body fading. We had no carrier, only a cardboard box to cradle her fragile frame, and we raced back to the vet with tears in our eyes.

The diagnosis: head trauma. The next 24 hours will decide her future. She is fighting—her tiny heart refusing to give up—and for now she responds to treatment. But the truth is clear: if we hadn’t seen her, she would already be gone. 🙏💔

And while she fights for her life, we are breaking. In just two weeks, four critical cases have come to us:
▪️ A dog with vasculitis
▪️ A cat with severe head injury
▪️ A cat with a tumor
▪️ And now this fragile kitten

These four alone have left us with €2,000 in debt. Add the old debts, and the new ones that will surely come—because most of the animals we care for are elderly and sick—and we are at the edge of collapse. We cannot carry this burden alone. 🆘

❤️🙏 A VISIT THAT FILLED US WITH HOPE 🙏❤️

Greek Animal Rescue at our shelter in Chalkero 🐾

Many of you know the daily battles we fight as volunteers—tireless, often heartbreaking, but always driven by love. And when a group as remarkable as Greek Animal Rescue (GAR) stands beside us, those battles feel a little lighter. Their visit to our shelter wasn’t just a gesture—it was a gift of strength, solidarity, and healing.

On Friday, we welcomed GAR’s representatives to Kavala. Though based in the UK, their heart beats for Greece’s strays. Their mission is clear: to support the people and organizations who fight every day for animals in need.

GAR is a rare example of what happens when compassion crosses borders. They connect animal welfare groups, associations, and volunteers from all over Greece—sharing knowledge, offering hands-on help, and building bridges that make real change possible.

Their visit to Chalkero marked the beginning of an even deeper collaboration. Together, we aim for better coordination, stronger networks, and more impact where it matters most: in the lives of the animals.

We ended the day around a table full of emotion, warmth, and shared purpose. It felt like we’d known each other for years. And now, we move forward with the confidence that we have true friends walking this difficult road with us.

This week has tested us in ways we weren’t prepared for. Three urgent cases—each one devastating. A fragile kitten, a long-term rescue named Boy who’s taken a sudden turn for the worse… and you, Paolina. You were the smallest. And somehow, your loss feels the heaviest.

They threw you away like garbage—left you on a farm cart, alone and invisible. Even after all these years in rescue, we still can’t bear this cruelty. And we still can’t bear losing you. 😢

The moment we heard about you, we ran. You were just a baby—covered in fleas, your tiny body barely holding on. We gave you everything: tests, treatment, love, hope. You fought so bravely. But someone had already stolen your future long before we met you. 💔

We didn’t get to save you, little one. And that truth breaks us. You never felt the joy of play, the comfort of safety, or the warmth of a loving hand. You only knew pain—inflicted by the very people you trusted to protect you. 😭

Now, you’re free. No more fear. No more suffering. Just light, love, and endless fields to run through. 🌈

🐾 HALKI 🐾 A Life Worth Fighting For

Years ago, we found Halki in Halkero — sick, emaciated, and barely holding on. She had heartworms, breast cancer, and the quiet strength of a soul who hadn’t given up. That year, we also rescued Phoebe, Roula, and Aris — all fragile, all forgotten.

It was one of the darkest times. The village reeked of death. Someone had decided strays didn’t deserve to live. But we did. We chose differently.

At Aisopos, we don’t choose the easy cases. We choose the ones no one else will — the elderly, the disabled, the chronically ill. The ones who’ve been overlooked, again and again. These are the lives we fight for.

Halki survived a mastectomy. She was spayed — a procedure that, heartbreakingly, wasn’t fully successful. Just days ago, she collapsed. Emergency surgery revealed a hidden o***y and a damaged spleen. She made it through. She’s still here. But the cost was immense — not just financially, but emotionally, physically.

We’ve never had support from the state. No help from the Municipality. Only from people like you — people who believe every life matters, especially the ones most easily forgotten.

We’re not asking for much. We’re asking for solidarity. For shares. For love. For the kind of quiet support that keeps us going when everything feels impossible.

Halki is still fighting. So are we.

👋 You know us, you know what we do and why. You know our struggles....our many struggles. So we will keep this appeal simple and straightforward, we need help. We need money, food, and medication. ❗Our Paypal is a sad sight to see (scroll to the end) and though we understand everyone is facing challenges these days, any little bit helps. In the world of rescues we often play the long game, rehabilitation and recovery takes time. But sadly once the shock of a situation wears off people forget about these animals. So let us tell you about ✨Tito✨.

We found out about Tito a year ago, he was roaming the streets in a horrible condition, it was heartbreaking and caused an uproar for help. So today we show you a before and after comparison. Our old man Tito, 15 years old but look at the improvement!

He just went in for a checkup and besides a persistent battle with heartworm, he's doing very well. We will of course continue his treatment and get rid of the nasty parasite. But Tito is healthier than we could ever have imagined a year ago. He's happy, he's safe ❤️

However...although Tito is more than worth our efforts, his recent trip to the vet just added another 190€ to an already towering vet bill we have outstanding. Our funds are gone, we literally have no money (we've added a screenshot of our Paypal account), we are desperate for your help, to keep afloat, to pay off our vet bills, to buy the food and medication we need every month.
