Powered by the German NGO Soup & Socks, Habibi.Works is a FabLab of freedom where people will have all the tools at disposal to unfold their potential and bring in their skills. Habibi.Works is most of all a meeting place where Katsikas refugee camp people, locals, entrepreneurs, and international experts will creatively collaborate around products and perspectives, combining their knowledge and s

Habibi.Works is a makerspace – a place where people can learn new skills, share knowledge, and create all kinds of things in different working areas. If you look closely, you can spot these creations everywhere, from the things people wear to the objects that fill our space. They range from small to large pieces, made from all kinds of materials. Some serve practical purposes, while others bring beauty and character to our environment.

Sometimes at Habibi.Works, we stop the daily routines of our workshop areas to celebrate.
One week ago on, we had three very good reasons to do so: We celebrated the end of Ramadan, the Persian New Year Festival Nowruz, and the official beginning of spring.
There was delicious food, the yard was beautifully decorated with crafts made during Kids’ Day, our tea truck offered refreshments and treats (from hot chocolate to iced hibiscus tea), a stage and music added to the special atmosphere.
As the afternoon went on, the music got louder and people stayed on the dance floor. After a beautiful sunset and a few final songs, the evening slowly came to an end - although it felt like we could have kept dancing for many more hours.

Thank you to everyone who shared this day with us ♡ Eid Mubarak and Happy Nowruz to all who celebrate!

Big Restructuring in Spring: Since the end of February, we have taken time to bring the physical structures of our space and the organizational structure of our project to a new level.
Lots of tasks beyond the daily routines, and lots of discussions and decisions are necessary to keep adjusting and improving Habibi.Works!

From Wednesday on, we will welcome all participants back in the space- and hope the new structures contribute to smooth and sustainable operations this year ♡
