🦭 Mediterranean Monk Seals in the Aegean

Some of Greece’s most beautiful summer climbing and hiking destinations are also home to one of the rarest marine mammals in the world: the Mediterranean monk seal (Monachus monachus).

These seals use remote sea caves and quiet rocky coastlines across the Aegean to rest and breed. Human disturbance near these areas can affect their behaviour, especially during sensitive periods.

As we explore cliffs, islands, and coastal trails during summer:
• Keep distance from sea caves and resting seals
• Avoid disturbing wildlife
• Respect quiet coastal areas
• Leave beaches and crags cleaner than you found them

Sharing these landscapes also means protecting the life that depends on them. 🌊

Climbing in Zobolo, South Peloponnese 🧗‍♀️🌊

Located in the wider area of Cape Maleas in the southeastern Peloponnese, Zobolo combines limestone climbing with open views across the Myrtoan Sea.

The area is mainly known for sport climbing, with a wide variety of sectors and routes ranging approximately from 4a to 8b+. Climbers can find slabs, vertical walls, pockets, cracks and varied climbing styles on limestone walls.

A place where rock and sea come together.

Η πρώτη μας ευρωπαϊκή χρηματοδότηση μέσω του Erasmus+ είναι πλέον γεγονός και η τοπική εφημερίδα φιλοξενεί την ιστορία μας.

Ευχαριστούμε όλους όσους στηρίζουν την προσπάθειά μας και ιδιαίτερα το Δήμος Λίμνης Πλαστήρα που βρίσκεται δίπλα μας από τα πρώτα μας βήματα.
