Voices Beyond Borders: Co-Creating Youth Expression Between France and Greece
*Voices Beyond Borders* is an Erasmus+ KA2 cooperation project developed by Rezonance Association (France) and Entaxis (Greece), aiming to empower young people through creative expression, participatory methods, and non-formal learning practices. Rather than a short-term exchange, the project builds a sustained partnership that strengthens youth work methodologies and amplifies youth voices across borders.
What is particularly interesting is not only what differs, but what connects them. Both organizations recognize that young people today: Entaxis contributes a strong background in community-based youth work, focusing on participation, social inclusion, and resilience.
What is particularly interesting is not only what differs, but what connects them. Both organizations recognize that young people today::. Entaxis contributes a strong background in community-based youth work, focusing on participation, social inclusion, and resilience.
Differences appeared mainly in **cultural references, daily realities, and communication styles**, but the underlying themes remained strikingly similar. This reinforced the idea that youth work can build bridges by focusing on shared human experiences.
Creative Tools: Cinema, Podcasts, and Storytelling
These tools are not just outputs—they are **methods of engagement**. Through them, young people develop communication skills, critical thinking, and confidence.
Beyond Content: Experience, Connection, and Culture
Even within a KA2 framework, mobility moments and collaborative activities create rich human experiences:
Friendships** emerge through collaboration and shared creative processes
Travel experiences** broaden perspectives and challenge assumptions
Culinary exchanges** become informal yet powerful cultural learning moments
Food, conversations, and everyday interactions often become as impactful as structured activities, reinforcing intercultural understanding in natural ways.
Creativity and Participation as Core Methodology
A defining element of *Voices Beyond Borders* is its **participatory approach**. Young people are not passive recipients—they actively shape the process.
They contribute ideas, co-create content, and engage in decision-making. This fosters:
* ownership and responsibility
* collaboration across cultures
* confidence in expressing opinions
Creativity becomes both a **tool and a mindset**, encouraging experimentation and innovation in youth work.
Results: Tools, Skills, and Lasting Impact
As a KA2 project, the results extend beyond individual experiences:
Educational resources and creative outputs** (films, podcasts, methodologies)
Improved youth work practices**, integrating media and storytelling
Skill development** in communication, digital literacy, and teamwork
Strengthened partnership** between organizations
Scalable approaches** that can be used by other youth workers
The project contributes to a broader understanding of how creative media can be effectively integrated into non-formal education.
Youth Work and Non-Formal Learning in Practice.
*Voices Beyond Borders* highlights the strength of non-formal learning as a flexible, inclusive, and experiential approach.
Learning happens through:
* doing and creating
* peer interaction and collaboration
* reflection and discussion
Youth workers act as facilitators rather than instructors, supporting a process where learning is co-created. This aligns with the core values of Erasmus+: participation, inclusion, and lifelong learning.
Conclusion
*Voices Beyond Borders* demonstrates how international cooperation can go beyond mobility to create meaningful, lasting impact in youth work. By combining creativity, participation, and intercultural dialogue, the project builds bridges between organizations, communities, and young people themselves.
