🇪🇺 From Athens to Brussels: empowering the next generation of Europe.

WeSolve had the honor of organizing the high-level discussion “The Role of Youth in Tackling Modern Challenges in a Rapidly Changing Europe - Gen Z, Entrepreneurship and European Integration”, hosted at the Permanent Representation of Greece to the European Union in Brussels, with the support of AHEPA Brussels Chapter.

The event brought together policymakers, entrepreneurs, young professionals, students and institutional stakeholders to explore how Europe can better equip and empower the next generation to address today’s complex challenges.

We were particularly honored by the opening remarks of H.E. Ambassador Ioannis Vrailas, Permanent Representative of Greece to the European Union, who highlighted the importance of meaningful youth participation in shaping Europe’s future:

“A resilient Europe is a Europe that listens to its youth and meaningfully includes them in shaping our common future. A Europe that is built with young people, not merely for young people or at their expense”.

The discussion featured distinguished speakers from the European institutions, the private sector, and academia, including:
• Gerassimos Thomas, Director-General, DG TAXUD, European Commission
• Nick Bitsios, Head of Brussels Office, Metlen Energy & Metals
• Christina Kattami, MFF Attaché at the Permanent Representation of Cyprus to the EU
• Juan Schinas, Policy Advisor, European Parliament
• Makis Tikfesis, Vice-President, AHEPA Brussels Chapter

The discussion was moderated by our Founder & Executive Director, Thanos Georgountzos, alongside our Research Director, Dionysis Fotopoulos.

At WeSolve, we firmly believe that young people are not simply stakeholders in Europe’s future - they are active partners in shaping it. Through dialogue, evidence-based policy discussions, and cross-sector collaboration, we continue to build platforms that connect the next generation with decision-makers and drive meaningful change.

The future of Europe will not be shaped by the next generation alone - it will be shaped with them.

🗣️ WeSolve at the Delphi Economic Forum

Our own Thanos Georgountzos and Dionysis N. Fotopoulos joined the panel on “The Digital Footprint: Data, AI, and the Microtargeting of Gen Z”.

A key takeaway: Gen Z feels increasingly distant from decision-making and that needs to change. More open dialogue and real participation are essential.

AI is part of this conversation too. The future must stay human-centered and Gen Z must have a voice in shaping it.

In the company of leading political and technocratic figures - including EU Commissioner for Economy and Productivity Valdis Dombrovskis and ESM Managing Director Pierre Gramegna - we’re pleased to share some inspiring highlights from the Forum.

On Saturday, our Founder & Managing Director Georgountzos and our Research Director Fotopoulos will join the panel discussion: “The Digital Footprint: Data, AI, and the Microtargeting of Gen Z”.

As the Forum enters its second decade, it brings together global leaders, policymakers, and innovators to examine the forces reshaping our world - from AI and data governance to the future of democracy.

At WeSolve, through initiatives like Youth Political Perspectives (YPP), we actively work to reconnect Gen Z with public life, fostering participation, meaningful dialogue and democratic awareness across Greece.

We look forward to contributing a legal and policy-driven perspective to the discussion and to being part of a dialogue that shapes what comes next.

Έχει πολυετή εμπειρία σε έρευνες κοινής γνώμης, στρατηγική δημοσίων υποθέσεων και αξιολόγηση αποτελεσμάτων. Μετατρέπει πολύπλοκα δεδομένα σε τεκμηριωμένα insights και στοχευμένο storytelling. Είναι Πολιτικός Μηχανικός.

Ο Χρήστος Λαγκαδιανός Γιατράκος είναι πολιτικός αναλυτής και στρατηγικός σύμβουλος πολιτικών καμπανιών. Κατέχει τη θέση του Αντιπροέδρου των Επιστημονικών Συνεργατών της Βουλής των Ελλήνων, συμβάλλοντας στην ανάλυση και διαμόρφωση πολιτικών προσεγγίσεων.

Παράλληλα, είναι Αντιπρόεδρος του Debate House, ενός οργανισμού αφιερωμένου στην ενίσχυση του δημόσιου διαλόγου μέσω ανοικτών συζητήσεων για κρίσιμα κοινωνικά, πολιτικά και πολιτιστικά ζητήματα. Έχει ενεργή συμμετοχή σε διεθνή και ελληνικά πολιτικά συνέδρια με θέματα στρατηγικής και δημόσιου λόγου.

Ο Ορέστης Χατζηγιαννάκης είναι πολιτικός επιστήμονας και Content Manager στο Οικονομικό Φόρουμ των Δελφών. Παράλληλα, είναι υποψήφιος διδάκτωρ στο Τμήμα Πολιτικής Επιστήμης και Δημόσιας Διοίκησης του Εθνικού και Καποδιστριακού Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών.

Είναι κάτοχος δύο μεταπτυχιακών τίτλων: ενός στα ανθρώπινα δικαιώματα και την πολιτισμική διαφορετικότητα από το Πανεπιστήμιο του Essex και ενός στις σπουδές Νοτιοανατολικής Ευρώπης από το Εθνικό και Καποδιστριακό Πανεπιστήμιο Αθηνών.

Ξεκίνησε να εργάζεται στον τομέα της πολιτικής επικοινωνίας το 2018, ενώ από το 2019 έως το 2021 διετέλεσε μέλος του Διοικητικού Συμβουλίου του Ελληνικού Τμήματος της Διεθνούς Αμνηστίας.

Η Αθηνά Φατσέα είναι Υποψήφια Διδάκτωρ στο Τμήμα Ξένων Γλωσσών, Μετάφρασης και Διερμηνείας στο Ιόνιο Πανεπιστήμιο.

Είναι Βοηθός Ερευνήτρια και Διαχειρίστρια της ελληνικής έκδοσης του έργου «Διατλαντικό Περισκόπιο», ένα έργο του Ιδρύματος Bertelsmann, με εταίρο το Ελληνικό Ίδρυμα Ευρωπαϊκής και Εξωτερικής Πολιτικής (ΕΛΙΑΜΕΠ). Είναι Επιστημονική Συνεργάτης στο Ινστιτούτο Διεθνών Οικονομικών Σχέσεων (ΙΔΟΣ), στο Εργαστήριο Γεωπολιτισμικών Αναλύσεων (GeoLab) και στην Έδρα UNESCO για τις Απειλές κατά της Πολιτιστικής Κληρονομιάς. Έχει λάβει υποτροφίες αριστείας και βραβεία ακαδημαϊκής επίδοσης από το Ίδρυμα Κρατικών Υποτροφιών (ΙΚΥ), την Πρυτανεία του Ιονίου Πανεπιστημίου, το Κληροδότημα Μαρίας Στάη (ΕΚΠΑ), το Ίδρυμα Konrad Adenauer (KAS) Ελλάδας και Κύπρου και το Ίδρυμα Α.Γ. Λεβέντη.

Έχει συμμετάσχει σε συνέδρια στην Ευρώπη και στην Αφρική, και έχει συνεισφέρει με δημοσιεύσεις σε συλλογικά έργα, επιστημονικά περιοδικά και πρακτικά συνεδρίων.
