📩 Το Ελληνικό Συμβούλιο για τους Πρόσφυγες και η Μέλισσα σας προσκαλούν στην παρουσίαση και συζήτηση του βιβλίου «A Greek Tragedy: One Day, a Deadly Shipwreck, and the Human Cost of the Refugee Crisis» της δημοσιογράφου και συγγραφέα Jeanne Carstensen.

Together we thrive ✊🌸
Last week, Melissa Network had the joy of hosting women representing eight grassroots organisations supported by RIZA from across Europe.
Together, we spent two deeply meaningful days sharing experiences, challenges, knowledge and ideas, while building our collective capacity to advance migrant women’s rights.
The experience was moving — a reminder of what becomes possible when women come together, learn from one another and build solidarity across borders.
With sisterhood. With collective power.

RIZA project is co-funded by the European Union and coordinated by the European Network of Migrant Women (ENoMW), in partnership with Monika-Naiset liitto ry, Fondazione Pangea Onlus, and Melissa Network. RIZA brings EU Values into practice through grassroots civil society organisations.

“People think peace is made by people just in negotiation, but actually peace is made when people –ordinary people– come together to tell their stories. And the movies sometimes tell our stories despite ourselves in some ways.
So, we are very proud to be participating here, and we're most proud to have our mother's names immortalized in Athens.”

“I think in life we don’t learn much from sameness. If all my friends think like me, speak like me and vote like me, it shows that I am surrounded with my own mirror image and that can be a very narcissistic existence. In life we learn from differences.”

“Our battle with the regime was the narrative. Everything related with the revolution is a lie, and we were trying to save this narrative, to save the memory… We were there, we are there, we are real. The dreams, the hopes, the things, the people that we lost – they are real.”
