The biggest source of plastic waste? The place where we shop every week.

Supermarkets are among the largest contributors to plastic bag consumption in Egypt. Every grocery run is also a small choice, one that adds up to billions of plastic bags every year across the country.

Out of sight doesn’t mean gone. (بعيد عن العين… مش بعيد عن القلب)

Most plastic waste in Jordan ends up in landfills or open dumping sites, with only about 7–15% of our waste being recycled. We don’t see it anymore, but it’s still there. And it keeps growing.

Choose products with less packaging, it matters more than we think.

We live in one of the most water-scarce regions in the world. Yet every day, plastic bags and bottles end up in our waterways, threatening the Nile and the millions of lives that depend on it.

📈 Egyptians use an estimated 350–500 plastic bags per person every year, with consumption in Greater Cairo reaching around 565 bags annually per person.

C'est le nombre de sacs plastiques consommés chaque année en Tunisie.
Un chiffre difficile à imaginer…
Mais qui se retrouve partout : dans nos rues, nos marchés, nos plages.
Et pourtant, la plupart sont utilisés quelques minutes seulement.
Puis ils s'installent durablement – dans le sol, dans la mer, parfois jusque dans notre alimentation.

👉 As-tu vraiment besoin de tous ces sacs plastiques ?

Au souk ou au supermarché, apporte ton sac réutilisable.
Dès aujourd'hui, un petit geste simple peut faire une vraie différence.

En Algérie, près de 7 milliards de sacs plastiques sont utilisés chaque année, selon le Ministère de l’Environnement (Algérie, 2021). Une grande partie est utilisée une seule fois avant d’être jetée.

Ces chiffres montrent l’importance de repenser nos habitudes quotidiennes et de soutenir les initiatives locales qui proposent des alternatives.

Adopter un sac réutilisable, éviter le jetable, ou choisir des solutions durables : des gestes simples qui font la différence.
