Konstantinos Giotis (b. 1988, Greece), lives and works in Athens.
The edition is based on a drawing made several years ago — forgotten, then rediscovered last summer among folders of notes and printed material, where it went on to influence a number of works, including a painting shown at ARCH.
It presents itself as a playful, colorful abstraction of a landscape with a moon reflected in the lower section, painted in a quick, reactive way. Disappointment often allows for contradictory and surprising results. The web simultaneously erases and gives rhythm to the composition — an omnipresent symbol, a trope. It has a lot to do with negation and the idea of representation.
There is something performative in the production of painting and drawing. It is necessary to take different approaches, different personas, in order to examine different scenarios. Not research, but experiment through randomness and desire
