For three nights, Missing Frequencies invited us to experience sound beyond hearing, as something that can also be felt, seen and imagined.

Thank you to everyone who showed up with curiosity and openness to experience things differently. To everyone who contributed to the development and presentation of the work, and to IN TOTO for welcoming us into their space!

The process doesn’t end when the exhibition doors close.

Through P.A.I.R., we are continuing to develop a Creative Accessibility Methodology, exploring how accessibility can be part of an artwork from the very first idea, rather than something added at the end.

If you experienced Missing Frequencies, we would love to hear from you. Your feedback is part of this process and will help shape how we create more accessible cultural experiences.

By the end of the year, we will share a manual bringing together the insights and practices we have developed together with our partners. We hope it will support the wider creative community in incorporating accessibility into their own artistic processes.

Fragmentide kogumise käigus väljaarendatud MissingFrequencies /Puuduolevad sagedused/ näitus ühendab liikuva pildi, fotograafia,animatsiooni, kollaaži, eksperimentaalse heli ja heli tõlgendamise tehnoloogia,et uurida erinevaid heli kuulmise, tundmise ja kogemise viise.

Videoinstallatsioon ühendab pilte, tekstuure, visuaalseidrütme, moonutatud helisid ja vibratsioone, et luua kaasahaarav kogemus. Selleasemel, et selgitada, mis on kuulmislangus, kutsub see iga külastajat avastama,kuidas taju võib iga keha puhul olla erinev ning kuidas heli saab näha, tundaja ette kujutada – mitte ainult kuulda.

Developed through a process of collecting fragments, Missing Frequencies brings together moving image, photography, animation, collage, experimental sound and haptic technology to explore different ways of hearing, feeling and experiencing sound.

The video installation combines images, textures, visual rhythms, distorted sounds and vibrations to create an immersive experience. Rather than explaining hearing loss, it invites each visitor to discover how perception can shift from one body to another, and how sound can be seen, felt and imagined—not only heard.

KAASTEELISED / THE PASSAGE

Kunstiinstallatsioon “Kaasteelised” on kahele inimesele mõeldud multisensoorne rännak, mis viib osalejad läbi kolme sümboolse etapi – sünni, kohtumise ja koosolemise.

Alustades teekonda hämarast emaüsast, liigutakse läbi ruumide, kus saab avastada erinevaid materjale ja tekstuure, suhelda teisel pool seina oleva kaasteelisega ning katsetada oma meelte piire. Rännak lõpeb ühises ruumis, kus põimuvad väikesed universaalsed maailma asjad ja inimesed. Tere tulemast asjade suurde perekonda!

What does it feel like to arrive?

👥 THE PASSAGE

The art installation “The Passage” is a multisensory journey for two people that takes participants through three symbolic stages – birth, meeting and being together.

Starting the journey from the dim womb, you move through rooms where you can discover different materials and textures, communicate with the passage on the other side of the wall and test the limits of your senses. The journey ends in a common space where small universal things and people of the world intertwine. Welcome to the big family of things!

- Before entering, you can watch an Estonian sign language video that tells more about the installation.
- Estonian sign language and subtitles are used in the video material.
- The installation has a description translation - you can scan a QR code on site, which leads to the audio file.
- Paavli Kultuurivabriku is accessible to people with disabilities - there are ramps and an accessible toilet.
