SCI Hellas participates in the Peace Activism Campaign of SCI International, highlighting the power of nonviolence through art and literature.

💭 What is it like to grow up in a world where freedom and everyday life suddenly change because of war and oppression?

The graphic novel Persepolis is an autobiographical comic that tells the story of Marjane Satrapi, from her early years in the Persia of the Shah to the Islamic Revolution and her escape to Europe.

📚 A few interesting facts:
• The work is autobiographical and based on Marjane Satrapi’s personal experiences from her childhood and teenage years.
• Persepolis became internationally known for the way it approaches oppression and freedom through the perspective of a child.
• Through its black-and-white illustrations, the work combines personal memories with historical events, shedding light on the human side of conflict.

Η SCI Hellas συμμετέχει στην καμπάνια Peace Activism Campaign της SCI International, αναδεικνύοντας τη δύναμη της μη βίας μέσα από την τέχνη και τη λογοτεχνία.

💭 Πώς είναι να μεγαλώνεις σε έναν κόσμο όπου η ελευθερία και η καθημερινότητα αλλάζουν ξαφνικά λόγω πολέμου και καταπίεσης;

SCI Hellas participates in the Peace Activism Campaign of SCI International, highlighting the power of nonviolence through art.

💭 What does war look like through the eyes of a child?
And how differently do we understand it when we witness its impact on everyday life?

The film Grave of the Fireflies tells the story of two siblings trying to survive in Japan during World War II.

📚 A few interesting facts:
• The film was released in 1988 and is based on the semi-autobiographical work of Akiyuki Nosaka, inspired by his own experiences during the war.
• It was produced by Studio Ghibli and is considered one of the most important anti-war animated films of all time.
• Although it is an animated film, it is mainly intended for adult audiences because of its intense emotional and historical themes.

💭 Πώς φαίνεται ο πόλεμος μέσα από τα μάτια ενός παιδιού;
Και πόσο διαφορετικά τον αντιλαμβανόμαστε όταν βλέπουμε τις συνέπειές του στην καθημερινή ζωή;

Η ταινία Grave of the Fireflies αφηγείται την ιστορία δύο αδερφιών που προσπαθούν να επιβιώσουν στην Ιαπωνία κατά τη διάρκεια του Δευτερου Παγκοσμίου Πολέμου.

📚 A few interesting facts:
• Η ταινία κυκλοφόρησε το 1988 και βασίζεται σε ημιαυτοβιογραφικό έργο του Akiyuki Nosaka, εμπνευσμένο από προσωπικές του εμπειρίες στον πόλεμο.
• Δημιουργήθηκε από το Studio Ghibli και θεωρείται μία από τις σημαντικότερες αντιπολεμικές animated ταινίες όλων των εποχών.

Η SCI Hellas σας προσκαλεί στην τελική ημερίδα του ευρωπαϊκού έργου AFROEQUALITY με τίτλο:

«Ναι, το χρώμα μας κάνει ‘διαφορετικούς» Έρευνα, δράσεις και διάχυση γνώσης και εμπειριών για την αντιμετώπιση του ρατσισμού, της ρητορικής μίσους και της Αφροφοβίας»

Η ημερίδα θα αποτελέσει έναν χώρο ανταλλαγής γνώσεων, εμπειριών και καλών πρακτικών γύρω από ζητήματα ισότητας, συμπερίληψης, αντιμετώπισης του ρατσισμού και ενδυνάμωσης της συμμετοχής ατόμων αφρικανικής καταγωγής.

📢 AFROEQUALITY Final Event

SCI Hellas invites you to the final event of the European project AFROEQUALITY titled:

“Yes, Our Color Makes Us ‘Different” Research, Actions, and the Dissemination of Knowledge and Experiences for Addressing Racism, Hate Speech, and Afrophobia

The event will serve as a space for exchanging knowledge, experiences, and good practices around issues of equality, inclusion, anti-racism, and the empowerment and participation of people of African descent.
