From alignment to action.

A high-level exchange with the ASEAN Committee in Athens (ACAT), chaired by H.E. Giovanni Palec (Ambassador of the Philippines), alongside H.E. Dr. Bebeb A.K. Nugraha Djundjunan (Ambassador of Indonesia), H.E. Pham Thi Thu Huong (Ambassador of Viet Nam), and H.E. Sathana Kashemsanta Na Ayudhya (Ambassador of Thailand), with the participation of Nick Stasinopoulos (Chairman, Hellenic-ASEAN Business Council), made one thing clear:

Greeceโ€“ASEAN cooperation is ready for its next phase.

For 2026, HABC and the ASEAN Embassies in Athens are activating a more coordinated model โ€” with dedicated Liaison Officers to accelerate ex*****on and turn dialogue into results.

Focus sectors:
Trade. Maritime. Tourism. Energy. Agri-food. Manufacturing. Investment.

Next steps:
Targeted missions. Business delegations. Thematic forums. Measurable outcomes.

The foundation is set. The partnerships are strong.

Now we deliver. ๐ŸŽฏ

Greece doesnโ€™t just participate in global energy logistics โ€” it shapes it. โš“๏ธ

Greek-owned tankers account for $77B in fleet value (Veson Nautical, Jan 2026). Data from Clarksons Research shows 1,000+ tankers and ~23% of global tonnage under Greek control.

Thatโ€™s not presence. Thatโ€™s leverage.

As reported by Bloomberg, Dynacom (Prokopiou Group) was among the first Western operators to transit the Strait of Hormuz amid rising tensions.

A calculated move โ€” signaling confidence under pressure.

At the core:
โ€ข Angelicoussis Group
โ€ข Dynacom
โ€ข Tsakos Energy Navigation
โ€ข Thenamaris
โ€ข Minerva Marine

Multi-generational. Counter-cyclical. Built to last.

The reality:
Energy flows follow maritime control.

For Southeast Asia, this is both dependency and opportunity.

On 13 July 2025, the Hellenic-ASEAN Business Council (HABC) and the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) signed a Memorandum of Understanding at KADINโ€™s headquarters in Jakarta. This marks a significant step toward deepening economic, trade, and investment cooperation between Greece and Indonesia, while also opening new pathways for broader ASEAN engagement.

The MoU highlights opportunities for our corporate members through:
Market Access โ€“ Unlocking entry into Indonesia, ASEANโ€™s largest economy and nearly 40% of the regionโ€™s GDP.
Cross-Border Investment โ€“ Enabling joint ventures, co-investments, and strategic alliances.
Maritime Collaboration โ€“ Advancing logistics, shipping, and connectivity between two leading maritime nations.
Institutional Trust โ€“ Strengthened by the support of ACAT, the Indonesian Embassy in Athens, and the Greek Embassy in Jakarta.

This agreement is not symbolic โ€” it is strategic. It reinforces HABCโ€™s commitment to creating real business impact, driving bilateral partnerships, and positioning Greece within ASEANโ€™s dynamic growth story.

The Hellenic-ASEAN Business Council (HABC), led by Chairman Nick Stasinopoulos, was honored to welcome H.E. Giovanni Palec, Ambassador of the Philippines to Greece, for a productive exchange on strengthening economic and trade relations between Greece and the Philippines.

Discussions highlighted the Councilโ€™s upcoming initiatives, particularly the first Trade & Business Mission to the Philippines, taking place on 4โ€“12 November 2025. Organized in partnership with the Philippine Embassy in Athens and the Philippine Trade & Investment Center (PTIC) in Paris under the Department of Trade & Industry (DTI), this historic mission will bring a select delegation of Greek entrepreneurs to explore opportunities across key industries in the Philippines.

In preparation, HABC will host a business roundtable in Athens on 16 September 2025 to provide potential delegates with insights into the missionโ€™s goals and the wide range of trade and investment opportunities available in the Philippines.

HABC continues to build bridges between Greece and Southeast Asia, fostering partnerships that pave the way for new investments and innovative cross-border projects. This mission represents a milestone in deepening Greece-Philippines economic relations and advancing ASEAN connectivity.

The Decade of Transformation is now.

For Greek and European businesses, ASEAN is more than a market, itโ€™s a strategic growth frontier. Amid global uncertainty, the region offers a rare mix of long-term growth and stability, driven by a young population, digitalization, and supply chain resilience.

From infrastructure and maritime services to agri-food and renewable energy, opportunities abound. Unlocking them demands local intelligence, trusted partnerships, and cultural fluency.

The ASEAN decade is here, the time to act is now.

The Hellenic-ASEAN Business Council (HABC) had the honour of visiting the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Athens, where we were warmly welcomed by H.E. Dr. Bebeb A.K. Nugraha Djundjunan, Ambassador of Indonesia to Greece and current Chair of the ASEAN Committee in Athens (ACAT).

The Hellenic-ASEAN Business Council (HABC) conducted its first official visit to Enterprise Greece SA to strengthen cross-regional cooperation and explore concrete areas for collaboration. The Council was received by Dr. Marinos Giannopoulos, CEO of Enterprise Greece; Mrs. Vasso Kyrkou, Director General for Communications, Marketing & Stakeholder Relations; and Mr. Dimitris Skalkos, Secretary General for International Economic Affairs and Chairman of the Board.

The discussion centered on aligning priorities across key sectors such as shipping, infrastructure, tourism, renewable energy, education, labor, and technology, areas where Southeast Asia offers some of the most promising and investment-ready markets. One of the meetingโ€™s key outcomes was the agreement to co-develop a Plan of Action that would outline coordinated efforts in business and policy engagement, including participation in events that support the expansion and implementation of EU-ASEAN Free Trade Agreements.

The Council also underscored the critical role of the ASEAN Committee in Athens (ACAT) and the support of the Embassies of Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam in facilitating institutional collaboration. In line with this, HABC presented its upcoming Trade and Business Mission to the Philippines this October, which will spotlight new commercial opportunities, particularly in sectors where Greek companies are already active.

This exchange establishes a framework for a long-term partnership between HABC and Enterprise Greece, reinforcing Greeceโ€™s strategic positioning in Southeast Asiaโ€™s evolving economic landscape.
