Dear friends, on Tuesday 15 September at 19:00 Mogens Pelt will give a talk entitled CONNECTING SCANDINAVIA TO GREECE: The Life of Gösta Enbom Between the Modern and the Ancient.
Gösta Enbom was a Swedish business man who operated in Greece in much of the twentieth century and donated much of his wealth to Swedish and Danish archaeological excavations in Greece.
In his lecture, Mogens Pelt shows how Enbom's story sheds light on the entanglements - monetary and cultural - of Scandinavia and Greece in the twentieth century. All are welcome!

Congratulations to directors Dr Søren Handberg and Dr Olympia Vikatou on this informative piece about the excavation of ancient Kalydon. DIA is proud to continue our collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and the Ephorate of Antiquities of Aitoloacarnania and Lefkada on this important project. 2026 marks the centenary of the first archaeological work at the site of Kalydon, and if you're interested in the long history of Greek and Danish field work at the site, don't miss the exhibition 'Kalydon - Then and Now' currently on show at the Nordic Library at Athens.
