Celebrating excellence in Internal Audit! 🌟🎓

At the IIA Greece Annual Conference – “Auditing the World”, we proudly honored distinguished professionals and organizations who continue to elevate the standards of our profession. More than 1,000 participants joined us for an inspiring day at the Athens Concert Hall.

🏅 Awards & Certifications Highlights:
✨ Giannis Selimis, Secretary General of the Attica Region, was recognized for his significant contribution to strengthening Internal Audit in both public and private sectors.
✨ ΔΕΗ Α.Ε. (PPC) and Growthfund - the National Fund of Greece (Υπερταμείο) received the prestigious IFACI Certification for the excellence of their Internal Audit Units.
✨ The Risk Officers team of AADE successfully completed their training and obtained the international COSO – Enterprise Risk Management Certificate, a milestone achievement for public sector professionals.

🌍 The IIA Greece Annual Conference 2025, titled “Auditing the World: The Auditor’s Perimeter in Turbulent Times,” took place on Tuesday, November 11, at the Athens Concert Hall, bringing together distinguished professionals from Internal Audit, Internal Control, Governance, Compliance, Risk Management, and Quality across the public and private sectors.

The conference explored the key issues shaping the future of the profession, from the state of internal auditing worldwide and the IIA’s Topical Requirements as a driver of progress, to emerging geopolitical and economic trends 🌍. Discussions examined the evolving cyber threat landscape 🛡️, the growing importance of crisis management, business continuity, and data governance 💾, while also highlighting how GenAI is transforming the auditor’s role 🤖 and the social dimension of ESG 🌿.

Proud Moment at ! ✨🏆

Last week at the annual conference of the Institute of Internal Auditors Greece, we celebrated a remarkable achievement! Vice President Makis Solomon received certification for Elpedison's internal audit unit's Εxternal Quality Assessment from IIA France/IFACI Certification.

Mr. Solomon shared his insights after the award ceremony: "A robust 100-point assessment by experienced collaborators resulted in valuable outcomes. We've crafted an action plan to boost internal control effectiveness."
He concluded by sending a message to all his colleagues: "Dare to undertake it, don't fear it."
