In July 2000, the International Olympic Committee, in close cooperation with Greece, established the International Olympic Truce Foundation and its operational arm, the International Olympic Truce Centre, with the goal of reviving the ancient tradition of the Olympic Truce.

On this year’s Olympic Day, we celebrated the power of sport to bring the Olympic values to life with children at the Olympic Village Sports and Training Complex, in collaboration with the Municipality of Acharnes, the Hellenic Olympic Winners Association and the Hellenic Olympians Association.

Guided by the values of respect, friendship and understanding, we remain committed to promoting sport and education as bridges between people and communities.

✨ This year’s message, “You Can Do This. Let’s Move,” reminds us that every step, every game and every shared effort can bring us closer together.

Let’s move for peace. Let’s move for respect. Let’s move together. 🕊️🌍💫

Η Ολυμπιακή Εκεχειρία δεν είναι απλώς μια ιδέα· είναι πράξη που ταξιδεύει παντού, ακόμη και στα πιο ακριτικά νησιά της Ελλάδας.

Με μεγάλη χαρά βρεθήκαμε στην Αλόννησο, όπου ο Πρεσβευτής μας και Παραολυμπιονίκης της ιστιοπλοΐας, Θοδωρής Αλεξάς, ένωσε τις δυνάμεις του με την Axion Hellas. Μέσα από το εκπαιδευτικό πρόγραμμα «Σέβομαι τη Διαφορετικότητα», οι μικροί μαθητές του δημοτικού ανακάλυψαν πώς ο αθλητισμός μπορεί να γίνει το όχημα για μια κοινωνία χωρίς αποκλεισμούς.

Για εμάς στο ΔΚΟΕ, κάθε παιδικό χαμόγελο που κατανοεί την αξία του σεβασμού είναι ένα βήμα πιο κοντά σε έναν κόσμο ειρήνης και συμπερίληψης.

The Olympic Truce is not just an idea; it is an action that travels everywhere, even to the most remote Greek islands.

We are proud to be in Alonissos, where our Ambassador and Paralympic sailor, Thodoris Alexas, joined forces with Axion Hellas. Through the "Respecting Diversity" educational program, primary school students discovered how sports can be the vehicle for an inclusive society.

At IOTC, every child’s smile that grasps the value of respect is a step closer to a world of peace and inclusion.

Με αφορμή τη Διεθνή Ημέρα Αθλητισμού για την Ανάπτυξη και την Ειρήνη, περισσότεροι από 150 μαθητές και μαθήτριες του 5ου Γυμνασίου Καλλιθέας συμμετείχαν στις «Διαδρομές Ειρήνης», στέλνοντας ένα δυνατό μήνυμα: ο αθλητισμός μπορεί να ενώνει, να εμπνέει και να καλλιεργεί τον σεβασμό, τη συμπερίληψη και την ειρηνική συνύπαρξη.

Μέσα από βιωματικές αθλητικές δραστηριότητες και με τη συμμετοχή Ολυμπιονικών και Παραολυμπιονικών, τα παιδιά προσέγγισαν στην πράξη τις αξίες του σεβασμού, του ευ αγωνίζεσθαι και της αλληλεγγύης. Ξεχωριστή στιγμή της ημέρας αποτέλεσε η συλλογική ύψωση της , του διεθνούς συμβόλου ειρήνης και ενότητας μέσω του αθλητισμού.

Οι «Διαδρομές Ειρήνης» συνδιοργανώθηκαν από το Διεθνές Κέντρο Ολυμπιακής Εκεχειρίας, το Αεί Φέρειν και το OAKA Athens Olympic Complex με την αιγίδα της Επιτροπής «Δημήτριος Βικέλας» του Υπουργείου Παιδείας, Θρησκευμάτων και Αθλητισμού.
