Ήξερες ότι ένα και μόνο αποτσίγαρο στη θάλασσα μπορεί να μολύνει μέχρι και 1000 λίτρα νερού; 🚬🌊

Σήμερα βρεθήκαμε στην παραλία Εδέμ για έναν μεγάλο εθελοντικό καθαρισμό, μαζεύοντας πλαστικά, μικροπλαστικά και αμέτρητα αποτσίγαρα, αφήνοντας την ακτή πιο καθαρή και ασφαλή για όλους!

Surfrider Athens had the pleasure of experiencing an inspiring and energizing weekend during the Volunteer Days organized in 📍Marseille, France 🇫🇷 by

From 14–16 November, our team had the wonderful opportunity to participate in this event together with volunteers from across Europe—including France, Portugal, Spain, Ireland, Germany, and the Netherlands. We all came together to learn, explore, share knowledge, and exchange ideas on how to better protect our oceans, rivers, lakes, and the environment that needs us now more than ever during these challenging times.

A heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who took part, as well as to the Surfrider staff for your incredible energy and support throughout this unforgettable weekend!!

Congratulations to Surfrider Europe on an unstoppable 35 years of hard work—especially during these challenging times!

Γιατί είναι σημαντικό να καθαρίζουμε τις παραλίες; 🤔

Η συλλογή θαλάσσιων απορριμμάτων είναι σημαντική, αλλά η συλλογή δεδομένων για αυτά είναι ακόμη πιο πολύτιμη.
Μαζί με την Surfrider, μετατρέπουμε κάθε δράση καθαρισμού σε ένα βασικό εργαλείο για να κατανοήσουμε το πρόβλημα, να εντοπίσουμε την πηγή του και, το πιο σημαντικό, να βρούμε λύσεις από τη ρίζα.

💡Ποια είναι η διαφορά;
Ένας απλός καθαρισμός παραλίας αφαιρεί τα σκουπίδια από το περιβάλλον, αλλά δεν μας δείχνει από πού προέρχονται ούτε πώς μπορούμε να τα αποτρέψουμε να φτάσουν στη θάλασσα.
Αντίθετα, ένας καθαρισμός με την Surfrider δεν συλλέγει μόνο απορρίμματα, αλλά και αναλύει τα δεδομένα.

💡Τι είδους απορρίμματα είναι; Σε τι ποσότητες; Ποιες μάρκες επικρατούν;
Αυτές οι πληροφορίες είναι απαραίτητες για να απαιτήσουμε αλλαγές από τη βιομηχανία και τις κυβερνήσεις.

Κάθε δεδομένο μετράει, κάθε δράση έχει σημασία.
Αν συμμετέχεις σε έναν καθαρισμό με επιστημονική μεθοδολογία βοηθάς να αντιμετωπιστεί το πρόβλημα από τη ρίζα του.
