It is with great pleasure and a deep sense of responsibility that I welcome you to the international conference “Wine and Olive Oil in the Mediterranean: Agri-Food Systems, Historical Dynamics, Health and Contemporary Challenges,” to be held from June 4 to 6, 2026, in the emblematic and historically rich setting of Ancient Olympia, Greece.

The choice of Ancient Olympia is highly symbolic. As the birthplace of the Olympic Games and a timeless beacon of peace, cooperation, and harmony, Olympia offers the ideal environment for a dialogue that honors two iconic pillars of Mediterranean identity: wine and olive oil.

As President of the World Olive Center for Health, I am honored to co-organize this distinguished event alongside esteemed academic and institutional partners. Παγκόσμια ημέρα σήμερα Ελιάς και Ελαιολάδου!!!🌿
Το Παγκόσμιο Κέντρο Ελιάς για την Υγεία (World Olive Center for Health) συμμετείχε στην ημερίδα που Πραγματοποιήθηκε από τον Δήμο Σητείας όπου η πρόεδρος του μη κερδοσκοπικού οργανισμού WOCH Δρ. Μέλλιου Ελένη παρουσίασε στους παραγωγούς την 15ετή έρευνα της ερευνητικής της ομάδας για το «Πώς μπορούμε να φτιάξουμε και να πιστοποιήσουμε ένα ελαιόλαδο με ισχυρισμό υγείας»🌿🌿🌿.
Ο Αναπλ. Καθηγητής Προκόπιος Μαγιάτης παρουσίασε «Το πολυφαινολικό ελαιόλαδο και οι ιδιότητες του για την Υγεία».
