| Meet Lydia Stavropoulou
A professional journey is rarely a straight line. It grows through classrooms entered, roles embraced, communities joined—and the courage to keep becoming.
This Friday, we meet Lydia Stavropoulou in a summery vibe! Lydia is an educator whose path brings together teaching, publishing, assessment and active service to the ELT community.
Lydia holds a BA in English Language and Literature, an MA in TESOL and an Advanced Certificate in Special Education and Intervention. She has more than ten years of experience teaching EFL and ESL in language schools and at the British Council in Athens, with a particular interest in young learners and teenagers. She has also worked as an oral examiner and language-exam marker.
Alongside her classroom work, Lydia serves continues teaching at the British Council Greece. Within TESOL Greece, she has contributed as a speaker on adult language learning and currently serves as Chair of the Oversight Committee—another chapter in a journey shaped by participation, responsibility and connection.
Lydia’s story reminds us that a professional community is more than a place where we collect knowledge. It is where we test our voices, widen our horizons and discover new versions of ourselves—together.
