We empower women to shape the future of everything 🤲

WE LEAD is a nonprofit organization founded by Libra Group in 2023 to create a pathway for women* to reach leadership positions. Starting with the technology sector, one of Greece’s fastest-growing industries and the driving force behind all changes around us, WE LEAD offers participants essential business and tech skills development, mentorship, job opportunities, and networking, aiming to create equal opportunities for women to shape the future of technology.

*By “women” we refer to any individual who self-identifies as a woman, including cis-gendered and transgender women

A new weLEADERs Unplugged episode is now live! 🎙️ In this episode, we sit down with Katerina Pastra, Lead Researcher at "Athena" Research and Innovation Center and President of the Hellenic Artificial Intelligence Association, to explore how research becomes innovation and where Greece stands on the global AI map.

From language technology and robotics to Greek language models, we discuss the research behind the tools we use every day and what it takes to turn scientific discoveries into real-world applications.

On Sunday, we joined the 6th Annual Meetup of Lean In Network Greece as Community Partners, where we ran “AI Basics Hands-on Workshop: From Prompting to Creating,” led by Konstantina Rodi, WE LEAD Graduate & Ambassador. 💻

Participants explored the fundamentals of AI tools, practised giving clear instructions and refined outputs through conversation, putting their learning into practice by creating their own five-slide presentations.

A big thank you to Konstantina for leading the session, to everyone who joined us to learn and experiment, and to Lean In Network Greece for having us!

Still thinking about New York and all the inspiration we brought home. ✨ From the Concordia Annual Summit, meetings, and learning lab to our visit to Google’s New York offices and the START Your Night UP meetup we co-hosted with Envolve Entrepreneurship and Founder Forward, our time in the city was filled with inspiring people, ideas, and conversations.

Ready to turn your ideas into something real with AI? 💻 On October 11, WE LEAD will join the 6th Annual Meetup of Lean In Network Greece at Telekom Academy with two interactive workshops designed for different levels of experience with AI tools.

During “AI Basics Hands-on Workshop: From Prompting to Creating,” Konstantina Rodi, WE LEAD Graduate & Ambassador, will guide participants through the fundamentals of effective prompting: how to give clear instructions, refine results through conversation and turn an idea into a five-slide presentation.

For those ready to go beyond prompting, Efthymia Amarantidou, WE LEAD Ambassador and Learning & Development Consultant at Code.Hub, will lead “Beyond Prompting: Meet Your AI Co-worker.” Through practical case studies and an AI agent demonstration, participants will explore context engineering, learn how to move from prompting to delegating and create editable, reusable deliverables for real-world tasks.

A new program, a new chapter of opportunities 🚀

Yesterday, we officially welcomed the new cohorts of the WE LEAD: Elements of AI for Business program, now in its second year, supported by the Centre for Public Impact as part of the Google.org AI Opportunity Fund.

From more than 160 applications, 50 joined us for an inspiring first session full of engaging discussions, thoughtful questions, and a shared curiosity about how AI can shape the future.

Their enthusiasm and eagerness to learn set the tone for the weeks ahead, and we can't wait to see where this journey takes them.

For the third year running, WE LEAD was in New York this September for the Concordia Annual Summit 🗽 Our Managing Director, Eleni Aktypi, and Community and Program Manager, Evi Triadopoulou, spent a week filled with conversations, workshops, meetings and new connections.

From roundtables on the future of NGOs and workshops on confidence and emotional intelligence, to our own event in the city (more on that in our previous post 👀), it was a week full of ideas, inspiration and learnings to bring back to our community.

Two moments that stayed with us:
✨ The Women’s Table networking breakfast: Women from different countries, backgrounds and journeys, coming together around a shared purpose. The conversations were a powerful reminder of the importance of showing up, staying connected and continuing the work, even when the ground gets harder.

✨ Libra Philanthropies’ Learning Lab, in collaboration with The Diana Award:
An inspiring evening with young leaders from across the world, from the UK, Japan and Colombia, sharing their journeys and the impact they are creating in their communities. Simple, honest and deeply moving stories that stayed with us.

A big thank you to Libra Philanthropies for the invitation and for bringing these voices together. And thank you to every organization and professional we met throughout the week and who took the time to share their ideas, experiences and perspectives with us.

Moments like these remind us why global connection matters, and why bringing those connections back to our community matters even more. 🌍

A night of ideas, conversations and new connections in NYC! 🗽At START Your Night UP – NYC Edition, co-hosted by Envolve Entrepreneurship, Founder Forward and WE LEAD, founders, innovators and community members came together to share what they’re building, exchange ideas and make new connections.
