Today, on behalf of Humanity First Greece, Mrs Olena Soinikova (Head of Public Relations), joined the discussion at the inter-agency Heads of Agencies meeting hosted by UNHCR Greece in Athens.

The discussion made one thing clear: the challenges facing refugees are well understood, and many possible solutions have already been identified. The difficult part is turning those solutions into support people can actually access.

That work requires public institutions and humanitarian organisations to act together. We met organisations that, like us, are responding to immediate needs while continuing to engage with the authorities on longer-term solutions.

For Humanity First Greece, this is where our programmes have a clear purpose. Through Food Security, Community Care and Knowledge for Life, we support people with food, essential items and opportunities to learn.

We leave the meeting encouraged by the organisations we met and focused on the work ahead: making sure that the needs discussed today are met with practical action.
