🚀 We are thrilled that the Institute of Research for Innovation and Development (IMKKA) actively and successfully participated in the review meeting for the BASIS project!

📍 The "Train-the-Trainer" workshop and review meeting (Project 2025-1-IE01-KA210-ADU-000360333) took place at the SEK Office in Larnaca, Cyprus, on April 20th and 21st, 2026.

Our goal was to discuss the feedback from the two pilot training courses previously held in Dublin and the Train-the-Trainer course. Representing the Greek working group, we utilized the "Plan-Do-Review" model to critically review the course materials and drive continuous improvement.

Key takeaways from the meeting:

• There is a universal agreement that foresight training and skills are needed to help Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) better understand and deal with change.

• Moving from being reactive to formulating a considered proactive response is essential.

• Understanding the forces involved in change and recognising their potential impact allows a structured response to be considered.

• The tools and techniques included in the course material will help participants to do this when dealing with future change situations.

🎯 The good news? The course has been refined in line with participant feedback and is now ready for general delivery to its intended audience! We are more than happy to recommend this course to CSOs struggling to get "change-ready".

We are proud to announce the successful completion of our project dedicated to supporting NGOs in the responsible and effective use of Artificial Intelligence.

Over the course of this journey, we worked to identify the key NGO functions that can benefit from AI, create a practical digital library of AI tools, develop integration guides, and strengthen digital skills through targeted training.

As a result, the project has delivered:
• a user-friendly AI tools library for NGOs
• a practical Integration Guide with step-by-step instructions, ethical considerations, and best practices
• multilingual resources in English, Greek, Spanish, and German
• training workshops that helped NGO staff and volunteers build confidence in using AI
• visibility and dissemination activities to share knowledge and impact

This project has been more than a set of outputs. It has been a step toward a more collaborative, digitally confident, and future-ready NGO ecosystem.

A sincere thank you to all partners, participants, trainers, and supporters who contributed to this work. Your commitment, ideas, and collaboration made this achievement possible.

Although the project has come to an end, its results will continue to support NGOs in exploring and adopting AI in meaningful, ethical, and practical ways.

IMKKA proudly participated in the EU Policy Lab on the challenges of vaccine promotion in Brussels, organised under the EU-funded co-OPERATOR project. This initiative brings together health professionals, civil society organisations, and patient advocacy groups from across Europe to address vaccine hesitancy and strengthen effective communication strategies.

We are also engaging in the EU Policy & Advocacy Workshop on “Protecting the value of prevention across Europe,” with a focus on RSV and maternal vaccination.

We look forward to contributing to these critical conversations and to strengthening cooperation across Member States to advance public health outcomes.

🎉Exploring AI for NGOs in Athens!

IMKKA successfully hosted Workshop #3 of the Erasmus+ project AI-NGO HUB on 12 March 2026, bringing together NGO professionals, volunteers, and practitioners for an interactive, hands-on session on the practical use of Artificial Intelligence.
Over the course of the workshop, participants:
-Discovered real-life AI applications for NGO work.
-Explored tools for communication, reporting, and planning.
-Worked in groups to design AI-supported solutions to real challenges.
-Reflected on ethical use, data protection, and responsible AI adoption.

With 20 participants engaged, the session created a dynamic space for learning, discussion, and innovation — helping NGOs take their first concrete steps towards integrating AI into their daily operations.

📣 Είμαστε στην ευχάριστη θέση να ανακοινώσουμε ότι κατά τη διάρκεια του Δεκεμβρίου ολοκληρώνουμε τον Ολοκληρωμένο Οδηγό Ενσωμάτωσης (Comprehensive Integration Guide), ένα εγχειρίδιο σχεδιασμένο να ενδυναμώσει τις ευρωπαϊκές ΜΚΟ.

Συγκεκριμένα, πρόκειται για έναν βήμα-προς-βήμα οδικό χάρτη που βοηθά τις ΜΚΟ σε όλη την Ευρώπη να ενσωματώσουν εργαλεία Τεχνητής Νοημοσύνης (AI) υπεύθυνα και αποτελεσματικά στις καθημερινές τους δραστηριότητες. Παρέχει πρακτικές οδηγίες για όλα τα στάδια, από την προετοιμασία πριν την εφαρμογή και την επιλογή εργαλείων, έως την ηθική διακυβέρνηση και τη μακροπρόθεσμη βιωσιμότητα.

Ο οδηγός αυτός, μαζί με μια πολύγλωσση ψηφιακή βιβλιοθήκη δωρεάν εργαλείων AI, αποτελεί βασικό αποτέλεσμα του έργου «Artificial Intelligence for Non-Governmental Organizations - Harmonizing Use cases and Best practice» (AI-NGO HUB, Αρ. Αναφοράς: 2024-2-DE02-KA210-ADU-000271579), το οποίο συγχρηματοδοτείται από το πρόγραμμα Erasmus+ της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης. Η πρωτοβουλία αποτελεί προϊόν συνεργασίας μεταξύ τριών ευρωπαίων εταίρων: της BEFUN (Γερμανία), της Inercia Digital (Ισπανία) και της IMKKA (Ελλάδα).

🎉 Στο Ωδείο Αθηνών, είχαμε τη χαρά να συμμετάσχουμε στην εκδήλωση λήξης του προγράμματος BUILD - Building a robust and democratic civic space, που έδωσε βήμα και δύναμη σε 42 έργα κοινωνικής προσφοράς σε Ελλάδα 🇬🇷 και Κύπρο 🇨🇾.
💚 Με το έργο ΕΕ-ΥΓΕΙΑ, η ΕΕΚΕ: Ένωση Εργαζομένων Καταναλωτών Ελλάδας και το Institute of Research for Innovation and Development - IMKKA ανέδειξαν τη σημασία της ενημέρωσης 📢 και της ενδυνάμωσης των πολιτών 👥 για θέματα υγείας 🩺 και καταναλωτικών δικαιωμάτων.

This week in Brussels, associations once again took center stage in shaping the health conversation.

Within the framework of the EU project , IMKKA joined forces with patient leaders and associations to explore the role of vaccination in managing chronic conditions, with a particular focus on cardiovascular diseases.

Thanks to their grassroots expertise and strong community connections, these associations are essential partners in linking prevention with long-term care. Together with IMKKA, they co-created communication materials that are now being shared across Europe, amplifying the message that vaccination is not only a public health priority but also a foundation for healthier, more resilient societies.
