The Pandora Project

The Pandora Project The Pandora Project offerings consist of bespoke packages that can be designed specifically to suit the needs of different organizations and aid providers.

The Pandora Project is a non-profit organization focusing on empowering humanitarians in their work by providing access to services which are specifically designed to improve their wellbeing, resilience and provide lifelong learning opportunities. The Pandora Project works alongside humanitarian organizations and individuals to challenge the stigma associated with self-care within aid work, build

resilience through training programs and provide a supportive humanitarian community that nurtures interagency peace and compassion for a sustainable future. The Pandora project also contracts 3rd party facilitators to ensure that a wide range of services can be offered through the platform.

We had the pleasure of delivering a full-day training with the incredible team at Saffron Kitchen Project here in Athens 💛

is doing something really special, creating a welcoming space where food, community, and inclusion come together. Their work supports people from diverse backgrounds, offering opportunities, connection, and a sense of belonging through shared meals and collaboration.

Our day together was packed and energising. We explored assertive communication, helping the team find that balance between confidence and empathy in their interactions. We worked through stress management tools that are practical, realistic, and actually usable in busy, high-pressure environments. And of course, we wove in plenty of team-building exercises, the kind that bring laughter, honesty, and a deeper sense of trust.

What stood out most was the openness in the room, people showing up fully, willing to reflect, challenge themselves, and support one another. That’s where real team growth happens.

It’s always inspiring to work alongside projects that are not only making an impact externally, but also investing in the wellbeing and strength of their teams internally.

✨ If your team could benefit from practical tools, deeper connection, and a space to grow together, we’d love to work with you. Get in touch to explore tailored trainings and coaching support.

More of this please ✨

We had the privilege of delivering an in-person Psychological First Aid training at the Sama Refugee Community Centre, bringing together team members from Rosa - Rolling Safe Space for Women and Lighthouse Relief.

The session was facilitated by our teams Psychologist Adamantia, whose depth of experience in frontline humanitarian settings created a grounded, reflective and practical learning space.

Psychological First Aid is not just a framework — it is a lifeline. In a world where humanitarians themselves are increasingly exposed to risk, instability and secondary trauma, strengthening internal resilience is essential. When aid workers feel supported, regulated and equipped, they are far better able to support people who have fled war, insecurity and violence.

This spring, we are also offering online PFA sessions, making this vital training accessible across contexts and countries.

The Pandora Project has been recognised as a Winner (UK), 2026 — awarded by GHP (Holistic Health Awards).

But the real point is impact: frontline teams deserve tools that work in the moment, under pressure.

That’s why The Pandora Project delivers Psychological First Aid (PFA) training — practical skills to respond to distress calmly, safely, and within your role.

PFA is not therapy. It’s immediate, humane support: calm • listen • keep safe • connect to services.

Vicarious Trauma to Vicarious Resilience:

There is trauma in witnessing suffering.
But there is also something else: resilience is contagious too.

Last week we explored that truth with the core team of Emantes, an incredible social cooperative supporting LGBTQIA+ refugees in Greece.

People who have fled persecution for who they love or who they are. Who navigate borders, systems, fear and invisibility.
And who still create community, humour, resistance and beauty.

This specialised training was about learning how to stay open and support , build self awareness and continue working without burning out.

How to let stories move us — but not break us.
How to transform vicarious trauma into vicarious resilience.

So much respect for this team and the work they do every day. 🌱

Please reach out to us to see how we can work to support your teams!

Today is Giving Tuesday 💛

Humanitarian and social-justice workers show up when everything feels impossible.
They hold communities together — often quietly, often at great personal cost.

And this year has become the most lethal year on record for aid workers worldwide.

At The Pandora Project, we’re seeing more and more frontline workers struggling with exhaustion, vicarious trauma, burnout, and moral injury… many unable to access or afford the psychological support they urgently need.

So today, we’re asking for your support.

Your donation helps us provide:
✨ Emergency psychological sessions for aid workers in crisis
✨ Low-cost or pro-bono therapy with trauma-informed professionals
✨ Rest & Respite spaces where grassroots leaders can breathe again
✨ Practical tools + peer-support that strengthen whole teams

When you support the wellbeing of one humanitarian worker,
you support every person they support.

If you’re able, please donate today — even the smallest contribution makes an impact.

Wellbeing in action — We were delighted to deliver a focused training session on Vicarious Trauma, Compassion Fatigue & Stress Management for our friends at The Flying Seagull Project, an international children-and-play charity working across the UK and in 10+ countries worldwide including refugee camps, marginalised communities, hospitals and more. The Flying Seagull Project

At The Pandora Project we focus on the wellbeing and resilience of humanitarian teams — we know the toll of being on the front-line, even when you bring joy. Our training gave the Flying Seagull team space to explore self-care, recognise early signs of trauma and fatigue, and build personal strategies for sustainable engagement.

We’re proud to partner with organisations like Flying Seagull Project who bring laughter, play and hope into the hardest places. If you’re looking to strengthen wellbeing in your team, drop us a message! 💙

✨ Rest & Respite for the Frontline workers✨

It’s been a little quiet on our socials lately… but that’s only because so much has been happening behind the scenes 💫

Over the past weeks, The Pandora Project has been holding a Rest & Respite Retreat for frontline humanitarian aid workers — a space to slow down, reconnect, and restore.

Our days have been filled with gentle yoga by the sea, swimming, delicious nourishing food, and sessions exploring the psychosomatic effects of trauma exposure — how our bodies hold the stories we witness and how we can begin to release them.

There’s been laughter, deep rest, reflection, and that beautiful reminder that healing isn’t a luxury — it’s essential. 💛

If you or your team could benefit from this kind of retreat or ongoing wellbeing support, we’d love to hear from you. Reach out to us — this space was created for you. 🌿

A huge thank you to@betterdaysngo for donating beautiful Yoga mats 🙏🙏🙏 and to Artimos Estate for hosting us 🥰
