CELEBRATING GREEK CINEMA | We are delighted to unveil the 26 full-length films and the 27 short films screened at the 67th Thessaloniki International Film Festival, within the framework of the Greek Film Festival. For yet another year, the Festival offers its longstanding support to Greek cinema and the Greek filmmakers through a series of targeted and innovative actions and initiatives.

A total of 19 Greek films will celebrate their premiere at the 67th TIFF, nine of which take part in the Festival’s competition section.

The films A Whole Person Almost by Efthimis Kosemund-Sanidis, A Day in the Life of Jo: Chapter Phaedra by Jacqueline Lentzou and Titanic Ocean by Konstantina Kotzamani take part in the International Competition section.

Two Greek films, Elena’s Shift by Stefanos Tsivopoulos and Recrucified by Theo Papadoulakis, as well as two Cypriot films, with Greek co-production, The Lion at My Back by Tonia Mishiali and Hold Onto Me by Myrsini Aristidou were selected for the Meet the Neighbors+ competition section.

Moreover, two Greek films are included in the >>Film Forward competition section, Particles of Dust by Argyris Germanidis and Under the Judas Tree by Christos Houliaras.

The Greek Film Festival is held as designated by the law. The members of the advisory committee assigned with the preselection of the films of the Greek Film Festival were: Christina Ioakeimidi, director, Thanos Tokakis, actor and director and Danae Spathara, producer.

😱🪆 BALKAN HORROR 😱🪆 The 67th Thessaloniki International Film Festival explores the frightening side of the Balkans through Balkan Horror, this year’s Survey Expanded tribute within the framework of the Meet the Neighbors+ section.

From folk horror and the supernatural to body horror, black humor, and especially splatter, Balkan Horror showcases a cinema that turns all that is familiar into something uncanny, and the everyday into a waking nightmare. This tribute proves, in cinematic terms, that in the Balkans, monsters don’t always arrive from the great beyond: they might resurface from the past, nestle within the collective memory, or lurk in the house next door.

The tribute will be accompanied by a special edition featuring original illustrations by ANEL (.f.arts), a pulp aesthetic, and texts delineating the history, the prevailing trends, and the day after for the horror genre in the greater Balkan region.

AGORA Crossroads Co-production Forum Unveils 2026 Selection: 14 projects from 15 countries!

AGORA, the industry section of the Thessaloniki International Film Festival, is set to host the 22nd edition of the Crossroads Co-Production Forum from November 8-12, 2026.

This year, AGORA has selected 14 promising film projects from 15 countries across Southeastern Europe and the Mediterranean region. During the 67th Thessaloniki International Film Festival (November 5-15), these projects will have the unique opportunity to participate in this prestigious forum, designed to foster networking, co-production, and creative collaboration within the global film industry.

Supported by the Creative Europe-MEDIA programme, Agora continues to be a key platform for industry professionals, offering a hybrid format that includes both on-site and online activities. This format allows for broader participation and facilitates meaningful exchanges between filmmakers and industry leaders, particularly those from Southeastern Europe and the Mediterranean region.

TIFF Agora continues to be a vital hub for connecting filmmakers from across the globe, providing a platform for storytelling that resonates with the complexities of the contemporary world.

This year’s Crossroads Co-production Forum Jury consists of Ioanna Bolomyti, Producer and Founder of Atalante Productions SA (Greece), Fred Burle, Producer at One Two Films (Germany) and Linda Mutawi, Producer at Fikra (Sweden) as well as the Arte Kino Prize International Juror, Remi Burah, CEO of Arte France Cinéma (France).

This year’s Thessaloniki International Film Festival and Agora, are proud to introduce a new award in partnership with FRENEL Post Lab, who will offer the FRENEL Post Lab Post-Production Award, including post-production image services to one awarded project participating in the Crossroads Co-production Forum.

AGORA | Thessaloniki’s Agora Crossroads Co-production Forum to Feature 14 Projects From 15 Countries

Agora, the industry section of the Thessaloniki Film Festival, has selected 14 film projects from 15 countries for the Crossroads Co-production Forum, which runs from Nov. 8-12.

The projects come from across Southeastern Europe and the Mediterranean region.

The jury consists of Ioanna Bolomyti, producer and founder of Atalante Productions (Greece), Fred Burle, producer at One Two Films (Germany), Linda Mutawi, producer at Fikra (Sweden) and Remi Burah, CEO of Arte France Cinéma (France).

POSTER | 67th THESSALONIKI INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL // 5-11 – 15/11/2026 ~ The Festival’s visual identity

It is with great pleasure that the Thessaloniki International Film Festival presents the posters for its 67th edition, which will take place from November 5 to 15, 2026. Visual artist Sofia Rozaki created the artwork spatial affects, which forms the basis of this year’s visual identity for TFF.

Sofia Rozaki draws inspiration from the cinema halls, as well as from the Festival’s tribute to the desert. The artwork spatial affects (acrylic paint, watercolor pencils on canvas, 150 x 180 cm) will be exhibited as part of the 67th edition.

In her own words:

“in the movie theater / a place between worlds / together silent in the dark / a paradoxical mass
intimacy
in the movie theater, codes are scrambled

in the desert / the absolute “outside” for the totalizing western comprehension / barren ground
for rigid social constructs and geographical claims / fertile, by extension, for wandering,
openings, and redefinitions
in the desert, codes crumble

in this work, experiences and memories of different individuals come together — people who agreed to share their love of cinema with me in a process of collective vulnerability

one of them wrote “because together is always better” and I’ll sum it up with that,
adding:
with radical responsibility toward the “other”

Sofia Rozaki (b. 1990) studied painting at the School of Visual and Applied Arts, Faculty of Fine Arts at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She currently lives and works in Athens. Her work has been presented in solo and group exhibitions in Greece and abroad at Zoumboulakis Galleries, the Benaki Museum (in collaboration with the DESTE Foundation and the New Museum), MOMus–Experimental Center for the Arts, Art Athina, Art Thessaloniki, the Rome International Art Fair, the Trento Art Festival, the Athens & Epidaurus Festival, the Q***r Archive Festival and the Thessaloniki International Film Festival among others.

In her practice, she explores alternative narratives surrounding the body, gender, memory, trauma and sexuality. Through hybrid figures and compositions that blur the line between the real and the surreal, her works challenge dominant Western binaries. With a feminist and q***r approach, Rozaki combines personal and collective experiences with a wide range of aesthetic references, crafting a vulnerably sincere and idiosyncratic visual language.

OPEN CALL | AGORA XR LAB

AGORA XR Lab, is TIDF AGORA’s most recent initiative, a workshop dedicated to XR and new media projects in development. It is designed for emerging storytellers keen to explore new forms of expression in factual and non-factual storytelling and pushing the boundaries of what audiovisual work can be in the digital age. We encourage emerging artists from different career paths and artistic backgrounds to submit their projects for this opportunity.

What are we looking for?

> Up to 5 projects that bridge the realms of film, digital media, new tech, and performing arts. AGORA XR Lab fosters innovation and collaboration by supporting creative, interdisciplinary partnerships in film, the arts, science, technology, and social impact initiatives.
> Curious and open teams who are interested in asking new questions, exploring different approaches, and considering where their work might go.
> Projects who have at least two creative members attached (such as creator-creator or creator-producer team) and can be in all stages of development. If selected, physical attendance is required.
