🐾 🐾 Well… PUPPY PATTERDAY on Saturday 29th August … we couldn’t have hoped for a better day! Not only did the puppies and ourselves meet lots more fantastic people, one amazing family are adopting our too little ginger munchkins 🥰🥰

💓 Previously known as Brenda & Madge, our two youngest puppies will now be known under their new names DOLLY & OLIVE!

🇬🇧 When Wren, Kev, Isla & Alfie, joined by Leila, Bobby, Daniella and her partner, first arrived at PP they were all totally smitten with the puppies. Wren, Kev and their children have since visited them again, confirming that they will be adopting the two girls 😍 We are all absolutely delighted! Thank you for welcoming them into your hearts and home.

🇬🇷 We met lovely Anna who came for some snuggles before her flight, and we hope to see her at HH in the future 🤞

🇦🇺 🇫🇯 🇩🇪 It was a pleasure to meet our next family of the day - Danni, Talei, Ollie & Margo - we think that Margo might be the youngest PP attendee to date! Although she was a bit too young to have the puppies on her knee, she was mesmerised by them playing in their puppy pen. Her older brother, Ollie, was so gentle with them and really respected that they are young babies too.

🌺 Our gorgeous puppy Zoe got her share of the cuddles and belly rubs from everyone. It doesn’t take her long to make new human friends as well as the puppies. How can you resist!!

We will keep you all updated with our puppies’ journeys, and on Saturday 5th September, we are hoping for some special 4 pawed visitors to our next PP … watch this space!

It is with a heavy heart that I make this post.

Today we had to say goodbye to our lovely Bianca.

Bianca was brought to HH 11 years ago after being abused by a shepherd. She was always nervous of people, especially men, but as she grew older and became blind her fear seemed to subside.

We did try to have her at the HH old dogs home (AKA my garden) but she would not settle, so was brought back to HH to be with her kennel mate Charlie.

Unfortunately her health began to deteriorate over the last couple of weeks so we felt it best to put her to rest.

Each Sunday for the next few weeks we are going to be celebrating our ‘older’ dogs with our

☺️SENIOR SUNDAYS☺️

Our more mature pups each have their own ‘tails’ to tell and have often been at the shelter for their whole lives, waiting patiently for their chance of adoption.

For our first one today we would like you to meet beautiful BETH! ❤️

🐾 Beth is 13 years old, born July 2013.
Beth was abandoned with her sister near a local beach when they were only eight-week-old puppies. She was brought to HH and is still there today. Beth is so sweet but quite shy and she needs time and patience to get to know someone, but once she does you’ve a friend for life 🤗

🌸Our Beth may be 13 but she’s still got a spring in her step and loves having a run around with her kennel neighbour, Shylough.

Thirteen years she’s waited for her furever home, could there still be a chance for Beth?! If you’re interested in adopting this gorgeous girl please get in touch with us.

🐶 🐾 PUPPY PATTERDAY on Saturday 22nd August had a different feel to it this week… but what we lacked in visitors we made up for in PUPPIES!

🐾 Not only did we have our two ginger munchkins (currently named Brenda and Madge after two of our volunteers’ mums!) , and our gorgeous regular ZOE, we had a forth puppy join us… AXL!

🦋Handsome Axl is currently being fostered by our amazing volunteer, John Walsh. Axl had been dumped out in the mountains and was found by tourists who then passed him to John’s neighbours. John then took on the role of foster Daddy a couple of months ago and Axl had his first proper outing into the big wide world at Puppy Patterday.

Axl tried to act all shy around the other puppies at first, but in no more than a minute he’d made friends and was in total puppy play mode with bigger puppy Zoe.

🌸Brenda and Madge had a big day too… they wore their little harnesses for the first time 🥰 however you’d have thought we had fit them with wrestling outfits 😂 as soon as the harnesses were on, mini puppy wrestle mania broke out (video to follow…!)

🌼And our gorgeous Zoe, she’s just the sweetest friendliest girl; loving her cuddles, belly rubs, and playtime with her fellow puppy mates. We are delighted to say that she has now been reserved for adoption in the UK 🥳

💙ℹ️ AXL - he is now 12 weeks old and looks like he will grow to be a medium-large breed. He has had all of his puppy vaccinations. He can also have his rabies jab soon so can travel in Europe from mid September, and to the UK from November.

💕💕ℹ️ BRENDA & MADGE - our little munchkins are also almost 12 weeks old so will soon have had their full puppy vaccinations and rabies for travel soon too. Travel to Europe from mid September and travel to UK from November.

Please get in touch with us if you are interested in adopting AXL, MADGE or BRENDA. They’re all coming along brilliantly and socialising well with the other dogs and us humans too, but we’d love them to find their forever homes asap.

Once again on Saturday, we had a wonderful night at Kato Chorio, where each year the lovely Karin, Silke, Lynn and Russell organise a fundraiser for VOCAL and Hectors House Crete.
Each year many people get together with different craft and bric a brac stalls to help raise funs for our 2 organisations. Also a great raffle is held too and this year there were some wonderful prizes.
In total they raised over 700 euros for each organisation.

🐾 🐶 On Saturday 15th August we had another lovely Puppy Patterday filled with snuggles and lots of happy tails. A huge thank you to everyone who came along to spend some time with the dogs.

🇦🇹 We welcomed a lovely mum and daughter from Vienna who spent time getting to know our little pups and giving them plenty of attention.

🇬🇧 We were joined by fantastic family from Halifax, who were absolutely wonderful with the dogs and gave them lots of love and cuddles.

🇬🇷 It was a pleasure to have a local couple from here in Crete come along and spend some quality time with our dogs.

❤️ We were especially happy to see Evey and her family who are PP regulars and the dogs were delighted with all the attention!

🐾 And of course, a big thanks to Dimi and Anja who came along with their gorgeous border collie, Joe Banana🍌🐶

Every Puppy Patterday is valuable time socialising the puppies and getting them used to the world.

ℹ️ The two little pups are almost 12 weeks old now so will soon be able to travel in Europe, and to the UK in November.

ℹ️ Zoe our slightly older puppy is almost 6 months old and she’ll be heading to a foster home in the UK very soon and looking for her own forever home there.
