MISSION ACCOMPLISHED ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿฅณ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ™Œ

Certification ๐Ÿฅณ ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ™Œ of volunteers and participants was an essential part of the camp, and it was certainly not left out.

After seven impactful days, participants underwent a series of intensive trainings, ranging from entrepreneurship and leadership to gender awareness, first aid, and other important thematic areas. Their dedication and commitment throughout the camp made them truly deserving of recognition.

At the end of the camp, all participants were proudly certified for their active involvement and successful completion of these trainings. The joy on their faces during the certification ceremony was priceless, it was a moment filled with pride, achievement, and fulfillment.

However, it was also an emotional moment. For many, it marked the end of a beautiful journey together, bringing both smiles and tears as participants prepared to part ways.

It was a truly memorable and heartfelt experience for everyone involved.

As we look forward, we hope future camps will continue to create such meaningful, historic, and unforgettable moments.

LEADERSHIP AND GOVERNANCE.

On 12th April 2026, we had a very insightful session on leadership and governance with Mr. Omar Saibou Camara. During the session, he helped us clearly understand key concepts in details.

Leadership was defined as the ability to influence and guide people, enabling them to work together effectively toward a common goal.

Governance, on the other hand, was explained as the system through which a country or organization is directed, controlled, and managed.
We also explored important attributes of good leadership, highlighting values such as transparency, accountability, fairness, and the promotion of good governance.

Furthermore, the discussion touched on the foundations of effective leadership, emphasizing that the best form of leadership evolves from authority, is strengthened by power, and is ultimately sustained through influence.

TWO CARTOONS OF SANITARY PADS DISTRIBUTED. DONATED BY MR. LAMIN DARBOE

The Southern Youth Camp was an inspiring and successful program where young people from Kombo South learned valuable life skills, built confidence, and strengthened unity among themselves.

On the final day of the camp, female participants were supported with the distribution of sanitary pads, presided over by the district youth committee chairperson Binta Ceesay and her vice chairperson Sanna Manneh.

This important gesture helps promote proper hygiene, boosts confidence, and ensures that young girls can manage their menstrual health with dignity and without interruption to their daily activities.

A big kudos to the organizing committee for this thoughtful initiative, a big appreciation to our donor Mr. Lamin Darboe and all participants for making the camp lively and impactful.

OUR CAMP โ›บ๏ธ, OUR COAST ๐ŸŒŠ, OUR RESPONSIBILITY ๐ŸŒ

On Saturday morning, the 5th day of the Southern Youth Camp ๐Ÿ•๏ธ, Participants and the organizing committee participated in a beach clean up exercise at the Tanji fish landing site, in partnership with Support and Mentor Foundation and the Tanji Environmentalist Organization.

As part of our camp activities, we found it important to give back to the environment by helping to keep our beach clean, safe, and more welcoming for everyone. Both participants and organizers played a vital role in ensuring the success of this meaningful initiative.

Basel Media was also present to cover the exercise and conducted interviews to raise awareness about the importance of maintaining a clean and healthy environment. Participants used protective gear such as face masks and gloves, showing responsibility and care throughout the activity.

A significant amount of waste and rubbish was collected and properly disposed of, helping to reduce pollution and protect marine life. Clean beaches not only create a safer space for people but also preserve the natural beauty of our environment and support tourism in our communities.

Beach cleaning is more than just picking up waste, it is about promoting environmental responsibility, preventing ocean pollution, and inspiring others to take action.

Together, we can protect, preserve, and sustain our environment for future generations.

campfires ๐Ÿ”ฅ has always been a cherished tradition in every camp, and at the Kombo South District Youth Camp, it was nothing short of unforgettable ๐Ÿ”ฅ, with warm hearts ๐Ÿ’ž and toasty toes ๐Ÿฆถ.

On the night of the campfire, the atmosphere came alive as the flames lit up the night. Laughter filled the air, songs were sung, and the sound of scout bands echoed all around. It wasnโ€™t just fun, it was a moment of unity, joy, and pure energy that brought everyone together.

That night created memories that will live on in the hearts of all who attended. Truly, it was not just an event, but a beautiful chapter in our shared history.
