Today, the Australia Awards Alumni Association of The Gambia proudly joins the global community in commemorating International Women’s Day under the theme “Give to Gain.”
This year’s theme reminds us that investing in women’s leadership, knowledge, and opportunities creates lasting benefits for societies and future generations. Across The Gambia, women who are alumni of the Australia Awards continue to embody this principle through their remarkable contributions to national development.
Our alumni women are making meaningful impacts in diverse sectors of the economy and public life. They serve with distinction in leadership and policy-making positions, as petrochemical engineers, university lecturers, human rights lawyers, animal scientists, medical doctors, and other highly skilled professionals who are helping to shape a more inclusive and progressive nation.
Through their expertise, innovation, and commitment to service, these women are strengthening institutions, advancing knowledge, protecting rights, and improving livelihoods across the country.
Today, we celebrate the dedication, resilience, and achievements of our female alumni whose work continues to inspire change and drive sustainable development in The Gambia.
