This important global forum brings together midwifery leaders and representatives of member associations to deliberate on key issues affecting midwives, midwifery education, regulation, and professional practice.
The Council Meeting serves as a platform for strategic decision-making and policy development, enabling midwives and their associations to address emerging challenges, advocate for reproductive rights and justice, and strengthen the advancement of midwifery as a profession worldwide. Discussions will focus on addressing the global shortage of midwives, reducing maternal and newborn mortality and morbidity, strengthening midwifery education, regulation, and practice, and advocating for increased investment in the midwifery workforce.
The theme of this year's meeting and congress is:
“One Million More Midwives.”
