𝐂𝐀𝐋𝐋 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐋𝐈𝐂𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒 | 𝐈𝐓𝐓𝐎𝐆 𝐒𝐂𝐇𝐎𝐋𝐀𝐑𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐏 𝐎𝐏𝐏𝐎𝐑𝐓𝐔𝐍𝐈𝐓𝐘

The Banjul City Council (BCC), in partnership with the Institute of Travel and Tourism of The Gambia (ITTOG) is pleased to invite interested applicants to benefit from the fully funded Tour Operations & Tour Guiding Scholarship Programme, supported by the Government of The Gambia and partners.

The scholarship provides nine months of professional training in Tour Operations and Tour Guiding, commencing in September 2026.

Through the BCC–ITTOG partnership, more than 10 slots will be made available through the Council, with council further complementing the scholarship support by providing a monthly stipend to beneficiaries selected under this initiative.

𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐋𝐈𝐂𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 & 𝐒𝐇𝐎𝐑𝐓𝐋𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆

Interested applicants are invited to visit the Banjul City Council to collect and complete the application form. The forms will be printed and made available by the Council so applicants do not need to print their own copies.

Applicants are required to come along with:

• Copies of relevant certificates
• Academic transcripts
• One recent passport-size photograph
• Copy of a valid National ID/Passport

The official registration form requires applicants to provide their educational background and identification details, including supporting identification documentation.

Application forms will be issued on a FIRST-COME, FIRST-SERVED BASIS, subject to meeting the eligibility requirements and subsequent shortlisting.

The Training on Local Government Processes and the Newly Developed Gender Analysis Tools for Councils continues today on Day 13 at the Brikama Area Council.

This will be the last engagement of the activity, with participants comprising Council staff, women, youth, Ministries, Departments and Agencies staff, and Persons With Disabilities.

During today and tomorrow's engagements, the resource persons will discuss the roles and processes of Local Government Authorities and introduce them to the Gender Analysis Toolkit that was developed in partnership with TANGO

Today, we completed day 12 of the Training on Local Government Processes and the Newly Developed Gender Analysis Tools for Councils, at the Mansakonko Area Council, LRR.

So far, we have reached a total of 177 people from Banjul City Council and Kanifing Municipal Council (joint), Basse, Janjanbureh, Kuntaur, Kerewan, and Area Councils, comprising Council staff, women, youth, MDA staff, and PWDs.

During the engagements, the resource persons engaged the participants on the mandates and processes of Local Government Authorities and introduced them to the Gender Analysis Toolkit that we developed in partnership with TANGO.

Next week we will be at the Brikama Area Council for the final engagement.

On day 11 of the Training on Local Government Processes and the Newly Developed Gender Analysis Tools for Councils, today we commenced engagement at the Mansakonko Area Council, LRR .

The resource persons are engaging participants on the mandates and processes of Local Government Authorities and introducing them to the Gender Analysis Toolkit.

Participants later work in groups to identify the participatory processes of the Council and what is required to improve on gender consideration with regards to budgeting and service delivery.

Today we commenced Day 9 of the Training of Councils, Women, Youth, the vulnerable, and Ministries, Departments, and Agencies on Local Government processes and the newly developed gender analysis toolkit at the Kerewan Area Council.

As in the other sessions, the resource persons are engaging the participants on the new Gender Analysis Toolkit and how to apply them and produce Gender Equality Action Plans and score each of their processes of the Council and its decentralised structures.

Today, we have completed Day 8 of the Training of Councils, Women, Youth, the vulnerable, and Ministries, Departments, and Agencies on Local Government processes and the newly developed gender analysis toolkit at the Kuntaur area council

The resource persons engaged the participants on the new Gender Analysis Toolkit and how to apply them and produce Gender Equality Action Plans and score each of their processes of the Council and its decentralised structures.

The participants were also introduced to how they can score themselves on their level of gender consideration and responsiveness.

A gender responsive budget checklist was provided to enable Councils to make gender consideration in their next budget preparation.

The Training of Councils, Women, Youth, the vulnerable, and Ministries, Departments, and Agencies on Local Government processes and the newly developed gender analysis toolkit continues today at the Kuntaur area councill.

Participants are drawn from the Council, Gender Office, Youth, Women and Persons with Disabilities (PWD). The engagement seeks to build Council-level buy-in and equip participants to apply the Analysis Tool and GEAP template.
