Day 5 – Makati Distribution📍

Not originally planned, but made possible by your donations.

We travelled back up-country and distributed 300 additional food parcels across Makati and surrounding villages including Taba Nani, Faraba and Janjanbureh.

Alhamdulillah for the opportunity to serve — and thank you for making this happen for the people that need it most.

Day 4 (afternoon): We visited a second orphanage to provide food for iftar during Ramadan, along with some treats for the children. These essential items will go a long way in supporting the children at the orphanage

Later that evening we also delivered 350 meals to patients across two major hospitals. The reality is that hospitals in The Gambia are overcrowded, with some patients even struggling to get a bed. Seeing other charities also providing meals highlighted just how great the need is.

Day 4 (morning): We had the pleasure of revisiting a school we’ve supported before, providing essential supplies including books, pencils, rulers, chalk and colours, along with some snacks and treats for the students to enjoy. Big thanks to Oastlers school in Bradford for their share in contribution towards this

The welcome we received was truly heartwarming and spending time in the classrooms with such kind and grateful students who will benefit from every single item is is a powerful reminder of why this work matters so much.

May Allah place barakah in every contribution and reward everyone who made this possible. Ameen.

Day 3 (Evening) - Last year, during a random visit to this orphanage, we saw children sleeping on cardboard. We immediately purchased as many mattresses as we could at the time.

Unfortunately, the rooms remain in very poor condition, with no lighting at all. We will now be looking at ways to raise further funds or launch a campaign to improve their living environment.

Today, we were also able to provide food for iftar throughout Ramadan.

Day 3 (Part 1) – This morning we distributed 150 food parcels within the local community. These parcels will go a long way in supporting families in need.

A huge effort was made by our ground team in The Gambia to carefully identify those who require the most support. May Allah (swt) reward everyone who has contributed.
