The Network Against Gender Based Violence calls for justice, accountability, and an end to victim-blaming in the reported sexual abuse case involving a minor. We urge the public, media, and authorities to protect the survivor’s dignity, uphold the law, and ensure a thorough, impartial investigation.
No to sexual and gender-based violence. Protect every child.

When we GIVE women the tools to lead, the resources to innovate and the safety to exist freely in digital and physical spaces, we GAIN a society that is more resilient and just.

At WoCAG, our mission is rooted in this reciprocity. By giving our time to mentor the next generation and our energy to protect women from online harassment, we gain a future where leadership is diverse and inclusive. Investing in women isn't just a moral choice it is the most effective way to accelerate sustainable development for everyone.
This year let us move beyond celebration and toward collective action. When she rises, we all gain.

We are proud to share that our Programs Officer has just concluded a three days of high level and forward looking discussions in Saly Portudal, Senegal.
Participating in the Dialogue on Women and Youth convened by the ECOWAS Gender Development Centre, was a powerful opportunity to represent our mission on a regional stage. As ECOWAS celebrates its 50th Anniversary, we are ensuring that youth and women aren't just in the room but also leading the conversation.

It was all about Advocacy in Action. Guided by the National Youth Council - The Gambia, our participants took the lead to develop real world strategies to counter disinformation and protect digital voices. At WOCAG, we believe advocacy is the bridge between identifying a problem and building a solution.

Building on the momentum of our first day, Day 2 focused on the practical application of crisis management and strategic advocacy. Led by Mr. Omar Bah, Peace, Security and Justice Officer at the National Youth Council, the session centered on Crisis Communication and Disinformation Response, providing participants with the skills to handle digital threats in real-time.
The core of the day’s impact came from intensive group works where participants transformed theory into action. These newly trained advocates developed localized strategies to counter viral harassment, debunk gender targeted disinformation on social media and hold influencers accountable for the normalization of violence.

The first half of the first day, led by Jainaba Bittaye our programs officer, provided a comprehensive foundation by exploring the spectrum of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and transitioning into the digital realm to address Online Gender-Based Violence , digital threats, and the Chilling Effect. Later in the day, the focus shifted to technical defense as Omar Bah Peace, Security and Justice Officer at National Youth Council - The Gambia and Basiru Jaye The ICT and innovation officer of NYC led a session on Advanced Fact-Checking and Countering Gender Disinformation, teaching participants how to effectively deconstruct digital propaganda.
These participants are now better equipped to protect women's voices and strengthen the Infrastructure for Peace in The Gambia.

Our participation at the recent National Symposium on Mental Health, held on October 16th, underscores a critical shift in how humanitarian and development work is viewed in the nation.
WoCAG was honored to be invited by SAFE space 4 girls, who led this high level forum as part of a joint Civil Society Organization (CSO) celebration for mental health awareness. The representation of WoCAG by Fatoumatta M Jaiteh and Jainaba Bittaye at the symposium is more than just attendance, it is a powerful affirmation that the fight for the welfare, safety, and empowerment of women and children is inseparable from the fight for mental wellness.
