🩺 World Hepatitis Day 2026: “Let’s Break It Down”

Breaking it down means breaking down the barriers stigma, fear, lack of access that stand between people and lifesaving hepatitis care. Vaccines exist. Tests exist. Cures exist. What’s missing is access for all.

We are glad to support ActionAid International The Gambia in facilitating sessions for members of the Young Rural and Urban Women Forum under the Global Platforms - The Gambia.

This activity will ensure that participants understand The International and National Legal Instruments promoting Women and Girls' Rights, GBV Prevention, GBV Reporting Mechanisms and Survivor Handling.

🩸 Periods are not dirty. They are not shameful. They are not a curse.

Today is MenstrualHygieneDay
and it’s time we stop letting myths silence millions. Menstruation is a normal, healthy part of life. Let’s replace stigma with science, and shame with support. 💪

❌ MYTH: You can’t exercise, cook, or enter sacred spaces during your period.

✅ FACT: Menstruation is a biological process — not a limitation.

500 million women and girls worldwide still lack what they need to manage their periods safely, hygienically, and without shame.

Domestic and family violence is real, and it’s happening closer to us than many of us realise.

Abuse isn’t always physical. It can also be emotional, economic, or psychological and no one should ever have to live in fear in their own home.

If you notice the signs, don’t ignore them speak up. And if you or someone you know is going through it, please know that help is available. You are not alone, and your voice and story truly matter.

Let’s break the silence, protect one another, and choose respect over violence. 💜
