KOMFFORA is an independent, non-profit making organization set up in 1998 to promote good forest management in the new community forests of The Gambia. The association is made up of village committees who are responsible for a community forest. KOMFFORA is dedicated to protecting the environment in ways that provide benefits to the communities that live around the forest areas. We provide support

and advice to all our members involved in managing their own forests for their communities. We act as a forum for communication between the many villages involved, and assist in marketing forest products and environmental protection efforts.
