KUNKUJANG KEITAYA SCOUT TROOP
DAY-LONG CAPACITY BUILDING TRAINING
Theme: Empowering Youth for Peaceful & Productive Communities

Venue: Kunkujang Keitaya Upper Basic School Grounds
The Kunkujang Keitaya Scout Troop successfully conducted a Day-Long Capacity Building Training on Sunday, 5th July 2026. The training recorded full participation from scouts, staff, facilitators, and community members.
48 scouts, 7 staff, and 3 facilitators attended. All objectives were achieved, and participants were empowered with skills in leadership, peacebuilding, and project planning.
The training was organised to:
Develop leadership and discipline among scouts,
Promote peacekeeping and dialogue for conflict resolution,
Build capacity in community project planning and management, as well as foster teamwork, unity, and social cohesion
The Following activities were carried out during the training:
1. Leadership & Discipline Training Drills, flag ceremony practice, and team tasks to instil responsibility and self-discipline.
2. Peacekeeping & Dialogue for Peace Session - Facilitated discussions and role-plays on conflict resolution and peaceful coexistence.
3. Staff Orientation & Project Planning Workshop - Training on identifying community needs, goal setting, and designing sustainable projects.
4. Socialisation & Team Building Games - Interactive games to promote unity, trust, and collaboration among troop members.
As a result of the activities, the following outcomes were achieved:
1. Scouts demonstrated improved leadership qualities, discipline, and teamwork during practical sessions.
2. Youth gained practical knowledge and skills in peacekeeping, mediation, and dialogue.
3. Staff and senior scouts acquired the ability to plan and propose community development projects.
4. There was increased unity, cooperation, and morale among troop members
The troop encountered minor challenges such as limited training materials and time constraints. However, these did not affect the overall success of the program.
CONCLUSION
The Day-Long Capacity Building Training was successfully held and met all its objectives. The program empowered youth in Kunkujang Keitaya with leadership skills, peacebuilding knowledge, and the spirit of community service. It strengthened the capacity of the scout troop to contribute meaningfully to a peaceful and productive community.
