On the 23rd August 2026, Special Olympics The Gambia held a Government Coalition Training led by Special Olympics Africa staff , with government representatives and key stakeholders to strengthen collaboration on the Unified Champion Schools and advance inclusion for persons with intellectual disabilities.

Together, we continue to work towards a more inclusive Gambia where everyone belongs. ❤️🇬🇲

On 20th and 21st August 2026, Special Olympics The Gambia successfully completed a two-day training for the Unified Sports Programme, bringing together educators , coaches and volunteers who committed to promoting inclusion through sport.

A powerful step forward for inclusion for Special Olympics Gambia On December 8, Special Olympics Gambia proudly signed a coalition with the Ministry of Youth & Sports, alongside Charles Nyambe President and Managing Director of Special Olympics Africa and Shawn Ferguson Chief Global Government Relations Officer . We also had the honor of meeting the First Lady of the republic of The Gambia to express our gratitude for her presence at the Torch Run earlier this February.
