⭐️ The idea is about what would drive someone to risk there life in pursuit of a dream by using merciless waters of the Mediterranean sea which deeply impacts the lives of thousands.
Secondly, many women have been trapped in situations where they can't find a way out. Many have been abandoned during pregnancy by their loved ones.
🌍 There are more stories, but what can we do to stop migration and give hope to the hopeless?
🎨 EBRIMA GITTEH is a 26-year-old Gambian artist who specializes in both abstract and realistic paintings. I fell in love with art during my childhood, always doing creative things. However, I truly discovered the power of art in 2017 when I left everything I was doing, like football, to concentrate more on art.
🖼"My first exhibition was in 2019 when I was fortunate to be selected from among young artists to join the international art exhibition at Alliance Française Banjul. After that, more ideas and inspiration started flowing, which led me to do my first solo exhibition in January 2021. Titled "EMPOWERING BREASTFEEDING," it was held at the National Center for Art and Culture and was sponsored by the National Nutrition Agency (NaNA).
🏛️ I organized another exhibition in the same year, December 2021, titled "CHOOSAN" (meaning culture) at Alliance Française. In 2023, I held another exhibition at Key Art Gallery titled "CONNECTING HERITAGE," which was sponsored by TAI (Teaching Art Institute) in the USA.
🗓️ I am now planning another exhibition titled "ESCAPE ADVERSITY" at Alliance Française on September 19, 2024."
