BRIKAMA NORTH DISTRICT YOUTH COMMITTEE AND SERREKUNDANDING YOUTH DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE CONDUCT TREE PLANTING EXERCISE

The Brikama North District Youth Committee, in collaboration with the Serrekundanding Youth Development Committee, today conducted a tree planting exercise in Serrekundanding as part of their continued commitment to environmental conservation, community development, and meaningful youth participation.
The exercise brought together young people and community stakeholders to contribute to the beautification and environmental sustainability of key community institutions, including the mosque, Arabic school, nursery school, and primary school. The initiative seeks to promote a greener environment while encouraging young people to take an active role in addressing environmental challenges within their communities.
Trees were planted at designated locations and properly protected with seedling guards to support their growth and long-term survival. The exercise also highlights the importance of collective community action in protecting the environment and creating healthier and more sustainable spaces for present and future generations.
The initiative forms part of the committees’ broader commitment to promoting youth-led development and environmental responsibility. The committees encourage residents, particularly young people, to take ownership of the planted trees by helping to protect, water, and nurture them.
The Brikama North District Youth Committee and the Serrekundanding Youth Development Committee reaffirm their commitment to initiatives that promote environmental awareness, youth empowerment, community participation, and sustainable development across the district.
