OUR OBJECTIVES
1. To encourage community interest in and an appreciation of the natural ecosystems, plants and wildlife.
2. To promote community interest through environmental education and public awareness of the Aims and Objectives of the Society.
3. To encourage community interest through publication of books, information sheets, maps etc.
4. To hold meetings and conduct seminars to lobby people in public office or those able to act upon and/or disseminate this information.
5. To co-operate and exchange information with other groups dedicated to environmental protection, and where appropriate to seek membership of such organizations.
6. Establish species diversity of the flora and fauna of the national forest parks and other areas in The Gambia.
7. To perform collaborative research on matters affecting the conservation status of species and habitats to allow appropriate conservation strategies to be developed and existing strategies to be improved.
8. To support existing conservation measures and, where appropriate, develop new programmes including practical measures (e.g., assisting tree-planting and providing suitable trees).
