πŸŒ… **Sunrise at Alishan β€” Above the Sea of Clouds** πŸŒ„

This morning our ITHF group woke before dawn and made our way up to Zhushan (η₯ε±±), the legendary sunrise viewing site in Alishan β€” and what a reward awaited us! πŸ™

We watched the sky shift from soft lavender and pink to brilliant gold as the sun broke over the layered ridges of Taiwan's Central Mountain Range. Our group gathered in hushed anticipation, then erupted in joy as the first rays crested the peaks. A truly soul-stirring moment to share as fellow Rotarians. ✨

We stood at **Zhushan Station β€” the highest point on Taiwan's entire railway network at 2,451 meters (8,041 ft)!** πŸš‚ This brand-new "Cloud Canopy Roof" station is a diamond-level certified green building, its flowing Ξ±-shaped design inspired by Alishan's famous sea of clouds and the Tsou indigenous people's heritage. Riding the historic Alishan Forest Railway β€” one of only a handful of mountain railways like it in the world β€” up to catch the sunrise is a bucket-list experience we'll never forget.

We also wandered among the ancient red cypress giants 🌲 β€” some over a thousand years old β€” and couldn't resist a few playful moments along the way (yes, that's us as the Scarecrow and Tin Man β€” heart and wisdom! πŸ’šβ€οΈ).

What a joy to experience these heights β€” literally and figuratively β€” on our Rotary International Convention post-convention tour, alongside cherished friends from around the Rotary world. 🌍 Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam β€” the world is one family. 🀝
