At Kerewan, as we marked International Women’s Day, one message stood above all.
𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵. 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹.

Women in The Gambia continue to carry nations on their backs,driving development, sustaining livelihoods, and shaping the future. Yet too many still face violence, exclusion, and limited opportunities.

At Maa Foundation For Women MFW, we do not just echo conversations,we drive change.

We believe that:
• Rights must be protected
• Justice must be accessible
• Action must be visible and sustained

Because as rightly said: women clock in without clocking out.

This is a call to challenge harmful norms, end gender-based violence, and expand real opportunities so every woman and girl can live with dignity and equality.

This recognition is not only a personal milestone, but a moment of national pride, as she carries the voice, resilience, and brilliance of The Gambia onto a respected regional stage in Ghana.

Emerging through a highly competitive national selection process, Agnes has demonstrated exceptional courage, clarity, and commitment to the causes she champions.
