My take on the video: Listening to the video as both a man and a therapist is truly moving. Hearing men respond, “No one,” “I’m a man, no one cares,” exposes the painful reality of emotional isolation that many men experience. As a man, it evokes empathy, a recognition of how often we are taught to remain silent, to be strong, and to handle everything alone. As a therapist, it underscores the heavy emotional toll of that silence and the urgent need for safe spaces where men can talk without fear of judgment or ridicule.
Men often hesitate to ask for help because they have learned that vulnerability is regarded as a weakness or can be turned against them. However, the reality is that seeking assistance is a courageous act. It requires strength to be open about pain, and every man deserves to be listened to, cared for, and supported.
By listening with empathy, offering safe spaces, and showing compassion, especially from one man to another, we can begin to break the silence. It’s okay to say, “I’m not okay.” Reaching out isn’t failure; it’s strength, healing, and humanity in action.
