Raise the Young Foundation successfully organised the first beach session under the Girls’ Summer Bantaba programme held on saturay 15th August 2026, under the theme“The role of young people in strengthening peace and community cohesion,.” The session provided mentees with an interactive space to explore peace, conflict resolution, anger management, and their role in promoting peaceful communities.

Raise the Young Foundation (RTYF), through the Girls’ Summer Bantaba Cohort, successfully conducted a Mangrove Restoration Activity at Bakau Tambi Wetland, resulting in the planting of 2,000 mangroves.

The activity brought together young people to take meaningful action in addressing climate change, restoring our wetlands, protecting biodiversity, and strengthening community resilience.

This milestone demonstrates the power of youth-led environmental action and the important role young people can play in creating a greener and more sustainable future.

We sincerely appreciate all Girls’ Summer Bantaba – Cohort participants, volunteers, partners, and community members for their dedication and contribution to this important initiative.

The Raise the Young Foundation (RTYF) successfully concluded the Beach Session under the Girls Summer Bantaba – Cohort on Saturday, 15 August 2026, at Cape Point Beach.

Held under the theme “The role of young people in strengthening peace and community cohesion,” the session provided a safe and inclusive platform for young people to engage in meaningful dialogue, share perspectives, and explore practical ways to contribute to peacebuilding and stronger communities.

The session was facilitated by Mariama Sallah, Peace and Security Coordinator at RTYF, who guided participants through engaging discussions on youth leadership, peacebuilding, community cohesion, conflict prevention, and constructive civic engagement.

RTYF appreciates all participants for their active participation, thoughtful contributions, and commitment to becoming positive agents of peace and change within their communities.

Together, we are raising young voices, strengthening communities, and building a more peaceful future.

Raise the Young Foundation (RTYF) participated in a Community Voter Education Engagement in Bakau, organised by Activista The Gambia under the NED-funded Civic Engagement and Transparent Elections Project.

The Foundation was represented by Saffiatou Njie, Awa Dem, Bintou Jobe, Hincha Jobe, and Mariama Jobe.

The engagement provided a platform for meaningful dialogue with community members, particularly youth and first-time voters, on voter inducement, vote buying, hate speech, misinformation, civic responsibility, and the importance of peaceful participation in electoral processes.

RTYF remains committed to empowering young people and communities to make informed choices and contribute to transparent, inclusive, accountable, and peaceful democratic processes.

Raise The Young Foundation (RTYF) participated in the five-day Mobilising Support Training organised by CASA Gambia in partnership with the Change the Game Academy.

The Foundation was represented by Saffiatou Njie and Bubacarr Darboe. The training provided an important platform for strengthening capacities in stakeholder engagement, support mobilisation, and translating community priorities into meaningful collective action.

RTYF appreciates the opportunity to learn, connect, and exchange experiences with fellow civil society and community-based organisations. We remain committed to strengthening our capacity and advancing impactful, community-driven initiatives.
