*So Pharaoh sent for Joseph, and he was quickly brought from the dungeon.* (Genesis 41:14, NIV)
*Due to jealousy, betrayal and false accusations, for thirteen years, Joseph was enslaved, mistreated, imprisoned, and forgotten to die.* Given his environment, the dream that God gave him of leadership and the identity that he was going to do something great in his life was almost swallowed up in bitterness.
Instead of wallowing in bitterness and self pity, Joseph was faithful in his devotion to God. He overcame the temptation to hate everyone who had hurt him. *He embraced God’s Word and received the grace to forgive all. Unknown to him, that's what God was waiting for to usher him into his divine destiny.*
Suddenly, God turned things around and made him the governor-general of Egypt. *Beloved, don’t take on that defeated identity and let it negate your sweet nature.* What happens to you is not who you are. You're not discarded. You’re a masterpiece. You’re made in the image of God and crowned with His favour!
*The devil fears who you’ll become if you truly sacrifice pleasure and pursuit of wealth for dedication to God and the things of God.* But he can't stop you. Too late! Keep trusting the Lord, and you’re going to break out of the dungeon and be brought to the place divinely appointed for you in Jesus name!.
Prayer: *“Father, thank You that what so often looks like a setback is really Your hand moving me toward Your purpose. Thank You that what’s wrong is going to push open doors and bring opportunities I could never experience without it. Help me to keep trusting while You work things out. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”*
